Your new role

We are looking for 6 housing professionals to join Birmingham City Council as part of their income recovery team. You will be responsible for delivering services, ensuring the General Fund income collection is maximised for management and maintenance purposes in accordance with appropriate legislation, policy, procedures and service/trade standards.

You will carry out income management activities as part of a work plan for services in assigned areas of responsibility, carry out tasks and duties as directed by the Temporary Accommodation Senior Income Officer and/or Temporary Accommodation Income Manager in order to maintain service delivery for the Temporary Accommodation Service.

You will need to continually carry out tasks and activities to an excellent standard to meet service demand from customers across all service channels (telephone, visits, online/digital) in line with policies and procedures, legal protocols, statutory governance, performance management frameworks and published service standards to maximise income whilst maintaining the highest principles of integrity in service delivery.

You will be expected to develop competency in service delivery for all functional teams/areas within the Temporary Accommodation Income Team as may be required at times to work for or on one, more or all of the functions at the same time, in order to meet business needs.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in income recovery or any role within debt collection.You will also need experience as a housing officer, welfare/benefit officer or any role within this sector. Knowledge regarding Universal Credit/Benefits and customer service skills are required.

This role requires a DBS - if you do not have one on the update service, then Hays will put this into process for you free of charge.

This post will support the Associate Director, IT with the development of core IT processes across IT Operations, IT infrastructure, Software Development and Solutions Architecture. • Significant experience with a variety of biochemical and analytical techniques, eg protein purification using AKTA, HPLC / size exclusion chromatography
• A deep knowledge of recombinant protein expression within bacterial cells, eg e.coli
• Experience working with CROs and/or managing external collaborations with partners in academia or industry
• Passion for the work and an aptitude for problem solving
• Strong communication skills, as you will be working closely in a tight-knit cross-functional team
• A flexible approach, with the ability to manage concurrent projects/workstreams with competing timelines

Experience of supervising or managing staff (either direct line management or in a matrix set-up) would be an advantage for this role but is not required:

The Department
The Maths Directorate is a supportive and dedicated department with a cohesive team who work together to achieve excellent outcomes for students. Progress of students in Maths is above the national average with excellent results expected in 2025. The department leads an exciting curriculum that celebrates high academic expectations and the development of student character through challenging schemes of work ensuring pupils can apply Maths in a range of contexts.

The Role
* Outstanding subject knowledge in Maths and a passion for your subject
* Determination to raise standards of teaching, learning and examination performance in Maths with a focus on KS5
* Teaching success at all key stages with proven success at KS5
* Outstanding classroom management skills and strong commitment to behaviour management within a restorative practice framework
