As an experienced shift manager, you will have a good understanding of yields, labour costs, waste and non-conformances, work well under pressure and have a good understanding of fresh food manufacturing environments. With recognised industry related qualifications including HACCP, Food Safety, Train the Trainer, First aid and ILM level 3 as a minimum. This role is based on days on a rotating shift pattern with flexibility required for busy periods.

We are seeking an experienced Caretaker to join our team at a school in Kings Lynn, providing temporary cover until November 2024. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's facilities and grounds, including carrying out basic electrical work, plumbing, painting, and carpentry tasks.

Reporting in to the Site Manager, they are now looking for a freelance Assistant Site Manager to support the project team on one of their schemes in Cambridge.The project itself is a £30m+ accommodation building with all associated external works and landscaping.
Duties to include:

• Support the Site Manager in coordinating trades, direct labour and materials to meet the production programme
• Accept responsibility for such duties and responsibilities as the Site Manager may determine; in particular, as and when required, deputise for the Site Manager
• Support the Site Manager, in ensuring that the on-site Construction team is fully resourced and well-directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities, and are provided with full support in achieving these, in terms of communication, training and development, and the organisation of the site's workload and resources
• Ensure the quality of work delivered on site is to the highest standard
• Ensuring that Health & Safety on site is adhered to at all times

This is a newly created role to support large scale improvement projects for an independent manufacturing business with several sites across the UK employing over 300 people.
Your new role You will report to the Operations Director and be responsible for managing and leading the maintenance strategy including capital expenditure, engineering projects and resource planning. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement, reviewing processes, procedures, and standards across site and take a proactive approach to implementing change whilst maintaining a high level of standards, safety and quality output. You will support cross-functional departments in the delivery of their objectives, ensuring all necessary housekeeping standards are achieved. Leading the maintenance strategy for planned preventative and reactive maintenance to actively reduce downtime. You will have control over the engineering budget, spend, ordering of products, capex projects and resource planning to meet strict deadlines. Also supporting the delivery of capital and strategic projects. You will manage contractors and third party suppliers whilst encouraging a safety-first and compliant environment across site and with third parties ensuring any contractors and suppliers adhere to the same principles.
What you'll need to succeed
As an experienced senior engineering manager you will have proven and extensive experience in process manufacturing, FMCG/Food, experience of managing a multi-site team and be able to travel extensively across UK sites. You will have proven large scale projects experience and be able to demonstrate a track record of capital expenditure responsibility. Coupled with delivery of efficiency improvements, ensuring all health & safety practices are adhered to. You will be degree qualified or by experience, have completed recognised project management training such as Prince 2, hold IOSH or relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
