Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager based in the Gloucester or Newport area for a leading distributor of high-quality plumbing products, dedicated to serving the needs of plumber’s merchants across the UK.
Our client is seeking a motivated Area Sales Manager to join the team and cover the SA, CF, LD, NP, HR, BS, and GL postcodes. This is a fully field-based role, requiring a proactive individual who thrives on building strong relationships and driving sales growth within their designated territory.

Salary:
• Starting Salary of £27,000.00 per annum
Candidate Requirements:
• Sales experience is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new products and technologies
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a large territory effectively
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned postcodes
Key responsibilities:
• Drive sales and profitability by managing and expanding the customer base within the designated area.
• Achieve sales targets and KPIs set by the company
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with plumbers merchants, ensuring excellent customer service and support.
• Regularly visit existing and potential clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities (Use this information to inform sales strategies and identify potential growth areas)
• Actively promote the company’s range of products, providing detailed product knowledge and technical support to customers
• Organize and conduct product demonstrations and training sessions as needed
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence
• Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review
• Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and logistics, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
