Your new role
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the coordination of all procurement and supply chain activity within your given area of spend. With subcontractor spend being a key focus area, you will lead on all contract management activity and manage key supplier relationships. The Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in managing a team of experienced procurement professionals, as well as reporting upwards to senior management. You will act as a point of escalation, so you will need to be a natural problem solver and able to act autonomously to make effective decisions.

Operating at a senior strategic level, you will be capable of managing the full end-to-end procurement lifecycle, spanning supplier evaluations through to understanding the commercials, subcontract management, handling difficult supplier situations, managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders. You will manage and coach a team and will develop them, acting as a true leader.

What you'll need to succeed

• Prior experience of leading a procurement team and working at a senior level

About the Role

NWS is seeking a motivated Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Manager to join their EPMO team in Cumbria. Reporting into the Senior EPMO Delivery Lead, the ideal candidate will manage and implement a best-in-class PMO service for the Waste Operations Portfolio.

The Waste Operations Portfolio office provides P30 support to decision makers and delivery teams within the Portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:

• Implement the service catalogue and service level agreements for the Portfolio Office; Define, manage and report against service level agreements.
• Work with the Senior EPMO Delivery Lead Waste Ops/NSD to implement the P3M governance framework, in conjunction with business owners and programme, project or team managers. Support in overseeing the activities and operations of PMO processes, procedures, controls, governance framework and resources related to P3M delivery.

My client is a Top 20 Accountancy practice with several regional offices as well as a main office in London. They come with an excellent market reputation and a long-standing history. They are growing their tax team and new opportunity is available for a VAT Assistant Manager to join their team, with the role have an advisory focus with some compliance duties.

Your new role
You will be

• Responsible for delivering VAT advisory services across a diverse mix of businesses as well as large international groups, across a variety of industries.
• Ad-hoc VAT Advisory
• Dealing with HMRC on a day to day basis
• Overseeing completion of VAT registration applications
• Completion of other HMRC forms and correspondence as necessary
• Deal with internal VAT queries and international offices as required
• Involvement in monthly VAT team meetings
• Involvement in marketing and promotion of the VAT team
• Assist in the development and expansion of the VAT team.
• Identifying opportunities for risk mitigation and cross-selling between service lines to ensure clients receive a proactive and effective service.
• Training and mentoring junior colleagues within the VAT team.
• Ensuring the Firm's technical, ethical, risk and compliance procedures are adhered to in all cases.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant, ACCA, ACA, ATT or CTA or equivalent, with technical VAT knowledge. You will be able to demonstrate your involvement in advisory projects for clients previously. Strong communication skills are compulsory.

As a Tax Manager in the Southampton Office you will have the ability and motivation needed to own and actively manage a client portfolio with higher level of client responsibility, oversee your team's portfolios and inputting to workflow planning, deliver revenue and profitability targets and foster enduring client relationships.

Your responsibilities will require you to provide a range of tax services and business advice to a variety of clients from small, fast growing clients to large corporate entities; establish strong working relationships with your own portfolio of clients through assignments and regular contact, including attending client meetings; handle and manage the tax compliance process for your nominated clients; communicate with internal departments to ensure deadlines are met and overseeing client portfolios to ensure HMRC deadlines are met; assist in managing the corporate tax team by hearing the voice of your team members, conduct appraisals, provide coaching of assignments to support the development of team skills and knowledge and continually improve the quality and delivery of work and be actively involved in tax advisory projects, both running projects independently and assisting the partners

It is likely that you will be CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA (or equivalent) qualified with exposure to multiple sectors being a distinct advantage. Previous Corporate Tax or Mixed Tax experience in a similar role within a practice environment is essential along with strong technical knowledge and the ability to carry out research into complex areas of tax legislation
