DUTIES:

1. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates any aspect of retirement cases to ascertain the proper law, rule or regulation applicable (10 U.S.C., Sections 8911 and 8914 for active duty, Section 12731 for Reserve retirements including reduced retired pay age eligibility and issuance of the legally binding written notification of eligibility for Reserve retired pay, and Section 12741 for choice/conversion between active duty and Reserve retirements, DoD Instructions, Air Force Instructions and the Joint Travel Regulation) and required course(s) of action based on nature of the case.
2. Provides advisory, technical assistance, procedural guidance, and recommendations regarding retirement applications and inquiries.
3. Applies in-depth knowledge and understanding to use, manipulate, and apply various functions of the Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS) and Defense Finance and Accounting Service-Cleveland (DFAS-CL) pay system in order to input transactions and analyze output products used to control, assess, evaluate, track, approve/disapprove, and communicate transaction status information as relates to the total retirement process.
4. Maintains a database as required for all retirements and case files of other processes pertaining to retirements that require processing beyond those approvable without intervention in software systems, such as, but not limited to, cases forwarded to the various offices within SAF, as requiring waiver or exceptions to policy, cases of personnel placed on medical or admin hold, and cases of nonstandard or unusual situations.

• Applies an extensive body of human resources (HR) rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to provide unit personnel support services.
• Uses guidelines that have gaps in specificity and are not applicable to all work situations to manage, prepare, and maintain documentation concerning reservists' participation.
• Assists in planning and monitoring manpower resource requirements and ensuring systems are synchronized.
• Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the force support flight/squadron on military and civilian personnel issues.

• Provides Administrative Support to the Automated Suitability and Security Clearance Process.
• Provides technical guidance, information, and assistance for a variety of Employee Relations programs.
• Performs a variety of recruitment and placement support duties.
• Effectively utilizes HR applications to collect, input, retrieve, and prepare a wide variety of reports.
• Serves as the resident subject matter expert for mandated administrative support programs.

The primary purpose of this position is: to assist the Chief, Career Development in administering all aspects of the function. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.

Duties:
1: Assists the section chief in administration of Career Development programs.
2: Responsible for various special Career Development Programs.
3: Administers actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System - Reserves.
4: Assists in advising commander and staff on various Career Development programs. Provides training to ARTs, AGRs, traditional reservists, civilian employees, etc.
5: Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and performs functional review of data reliability. May be required to perform Installation Personnel Readiness duties and/or assist as directed.

• Administers the installation's military personnel testing program for a variety of military tests. Schedules testing requirements ensuring compliance with testing deadlines established by the agency.
• Receives and reviews testing requirements in support of the Weighted Airman Promotion System (WAPS). Monitors daily products such as transaction registers and strength changes to track and determine individual's testing requirements and verify testing eligibility.
• Oversees the Foreign Language Proficiency Pay (FLPP) Program. Ensures all requirements for FLPP eligibility are met. Tests all officers and airmen with commander approval who claim proficiency or native language ability in one or more foreign languages.
• Maintains and controls test material. Monitors and reviews stock levels to ensure appropriate test materials are available. Mails controlled test booklets to all geographically separated units (GSUs) for the Special Test Control Officers (STCOs).
• Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.

• Performs the full range of tasks for assigned areas such as assignment, enlistment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation, or similar actions and performs a substantive review of records to determine eligibility for actions
• Serves as a technical authority on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties and reviews reports, forms, documentation, and other related information concerning Air Force members and reviews/constructs/maintains military personnel records on all assigned areas
