(Trainee Engineer Role)
As a Trainee Alarm & CCTV Engineer you will be responsible for learning to install, repair and maintain security systems to include burglar alarm and CCTV systems in domestic, commercial and industrial settings. This includes wiring, programming and testing the alarm system, as well as troubleshooting and repairing any faults. You will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and receive on-the job training to develop your skills and knowledge in the field until the time you are ready to go out on your own.

The Trainee Security Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that the alarm systems are in compliance with the relevant safety regulations and SSAIB standards. Other duties include providing advice and assistance to customers on the operation and maintenance of their alarm and CCTV systems, as well as responding to emergency call-outs once trained.


• Assist senior engineers in the installation of alarm and CCTV systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings
• Learn to program and configure alarm panels, pirs, shocks and other components according to specifications
• Participate in routine maintenance tasks such as testing, inspecting and servicing alarm systems to ensure they are functioning adequately
• Troubleshoot issues with alarm and CCTV systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements of faulty components
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client enquiries and concerns, professionally and promptly
• Provide technical support to customers
• Competent use of ladders scaling 20 foot or more
• On call rota – every 1 in 3 weeks once fully trained
Trainee Candidate Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, additional technical education or certificates are an advantage
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools

You will be responsible for stripping out properties of their fixtures and fittings following water / fire damage, setting up equipment to begin and complete the drying out process so that the property can be restored back to full use. You will upload project reports and updates to company claims management system. You will attend team meetings and will be required to travel extensively and stay away from home regularly during the week and when required in fully expensed accommodation with a meal allowance.

To be considered for the role of Trainee Restoration Technician , you will have previous experience in a similar damage restoration or construction labouring position where you have worked extensive with building materials, you will have manual dexterity, pc literate and a good level of general education. You will have excellent communication skills along with empathy and customer service skills. You must be able to work away from home on a regular basis and sometimes at short notice.

For the role of Trainee Restoration Technician, our client is offering a starting salary £25,000 with overtime over 40 hours, company vehicle, laptop, mobile phone, 25 days paid annual leave, plus statutory holidays, pension, life assurance after probationary period, social events, career training and progression.
