Your new companyThis fantastic nursery located in the Hove area is looking for a Nursery Manager to join their team for an upcoming maternity cover. The nursery holds a 'Good' Ofsted rating. They are open from 07:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday all weeks of the year except for one week at Christmas. The nursery has been established for ten years by an internationally recognised early years innovator and opened a second site in 2018. They provide quality childcare for parents and carers for children ages 0-5 years. The nursery is run with a family feel, ensuring staff and children's wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do. They have brilliant links with the local community and provide a fresh, energised and focused approach to childcare. Their staff are highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic, who work well as a team and are focused on providing a high quality service.
Your new roleWe are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic nursery manager to lead our team. This is an exciting role for an existing Nursery Manager who is looking for a new role with the opportunity to develop and coach a new team. In the role, you will be supported by the nursery owner as well as the office manager to try and allow you as much hands-on time with the team as possible. You will be responsible for the overall management of the nursery, ensuring policies, procedures and legislation are abided by. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained. You will be an excellent role model for the team and contribute towards creating a happy culture and working environment for the nursery.
What you'll need to succeedIt is essential that you hold a Level 5 qualification within the Early Years. You will need to have worked within a nursery/primary/pre-prep environment in the last 2 years, and that can provide a reference. You need to have a clean, enhanced DBS check on the update service or, if not, the nursery will run an enhanced DBS check for you. You need to be flexible and, most importantly, have a fun personality that the children will be able to engage with. It is important that you have a good understanding of children's development and their needs, as well as ensure positive management of children's behaviour. They are looking for a qualified and experienced Nursery Manager who will have responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery as well as supervising the staff within it. You will play an important role in leading the training and development of staff, creating a safe and stimulating environment for children and staff and imparting their childcare knowledge and skills to the team.
