The Contract Specialist is responsible for performing professional work involving the procurement of supplies and services using procedures outlined in the Federal Acquisitions Regulations, VA Acquisition Regulations, Public Laws, and Agency policy. The Peer Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member, assisting physicians and other professional/non-professional personnel in a rehabilitation treatment program. • The Coordinator will also have the responsibility of managing the weekly food pantry facilitated by the Hines Homeless program. Screening/Assessment - The social worker will interview patients and develop a psychosocial assessment of the Veteran. The social worker may gather and evaluate information from sources other than the patient, with the patient's consent, to validate patient reports and provide a more comprehensive assessment. The goal of the assessment is to highlight the Veteran's strengths, limitations, and internal/external supports and service needs in order to optimize the Veteran's functional status. The social worker will also develop a record of patient history (Integrative Summary or Interpretive Summary), psychosocial assessment and psychosocial diagnosis for each assigned patient.

Treatment Planning/Goal Setting - It is the responsibility of the social worker, working within the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop a treatment plan based on assessment data and the input from the Veteran. Crisis Intervention - The social worker will make rapid assessments and develop crisis management plans in MH RRTP. This includes the development and facilitation of written crisis plans, suicide risk assessments, collaborative safety action plans, and assessment of homicidal ideation. In the event of a medical or psychiatric emergency, staff will follow the protocol to facilitate safe and supportive placement for a Veteran on the acute psychiatric unit consistent with VAHCS, Mental Health Service Line, and MH RRTP policy.

Education/Health promotion and prevention - As appropriate, the social worker will provide health care education and/or referral to qualified health care educators to Veterans and their families. The MH RRTP social worker will provide education to Veterans related to Advance Directives/Living Will's and will facilitate completion for Veterans enrolled in MH RRTP.

Coordination of non-institutional and institutional services - The Social worker will review the progress notes from the other providers to accurately determine the strengths and limitations of each Veteran being referred for mental health services. Social worker will educate the Veteran, their families and the team of all the options available to them and will collaborate with the Veteran and family on the preferred option.

Supportive counseling - Social worker will provide the Veterans and their caregivers with ongoing supportive counseling. The purpose of such counseling is to assist the Veteran/caregiver in effectively coping with issues of daily living, including dealing with the psychosocial impact of dealing with issues of physical/mental illness and/or addiction.

Administrative responsibilities - The social worker will enter all Veteran/family contacts in the electronic record using appropriate formats and templates. It is the responsibility of the social worker to ensure that urgent medical documentation is available for view by other medical staff, therefore, it is required that the social worker ensure timely co-signature (if needed) by directly contacting the clinical mentor/supervisor, the Social Work Executive, or the immediate supervisor to sign off on the medical documentation. The Nurse Referral Coordination Team (RCT) Registered Nurse (RN) ) is responsible for executing a streamlined approach to receiving, triaging, and directing timely, coordinated care. The RCT RN possesses intimate knowledge of the internal referral care process, clinical review criteria, utilization management standards, clinical documentation requirements, community care regulations, and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) standards and guidelines. Major Duties:

The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of all Technicians with the operating room staff at Ann Arbor Healthcare System. The working supervisor/technician is responsible for operations, and equipment within the unit. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

Supervisory Duties:

• Provides direct supervision to scrub technicians, Medical Instrument Technicians, Supply Technician, and Health Technicians performing a variety of duties within the operating room setting at the VAAAHS. Work closely with the Primary Care (PC) Service Chief to determine appropriate MCA labor mapping, panel size and PCMM FTE. This incumbent is required to work with other clinical services such as Specialty Care, Radiology, Mental Health, Laboratory, Urgent Care as well as GEC/CLC. Develop and supervise clinical education programs for PC Providers and Trainees. Participate in groups created for PC Leadership including VISN and National calls when the Service Chief is absent. He or She is required to travel to CBOCs on a regular basis as well as travel to conferences and meetings. This position will be 40% Administrative Duties and 60% Clinical Duties. This position may be required to cover intermittently, PACT teams and same day services as a gap and float Provider. Other duties as assigned.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Carries out complex searches providing accurate and reliable information that informs clinical and management decisions, provides context for research efforts and encourages the self-directed learning of VANTHCS staff. Applies expertise to searching multiple health-related databases including, but not limited to MEDLINE, CINAHL, Psyclnfo, Cochrane Collaboration, UpToDate, as well as databases in affiliated fields such as business and the social sciences. Incumbent applies knowledge of the terminology and practices of health care disciplines, including all fields of medicine and surgery, dentistry, nursing, mental health, health administration, pharmacy and allied health fields, to accurately interpret questions and complete reliable and comprehensive searches.
• Performs critical evaluation of citations to identify those that are pertinent to a client's question. Evaluates resources and references, both primary and secondary, for authoritativeness, timeliness, and relevance to specific information requests. Ensures the accuracy and relevance of information provided.
• Applies knowledge of interlibrary loan resources and procedures for hospital libraries to facilitate interlibrary cooperation and the smooth exchange of information in order to provide VANTHCS staff access to a wide range of resources beyond those owned by VANTHCS. Coordinates the activities of a broad and varied document delivery/interlibrary loan system.
• Applies expert knowledge of DOCLINE, OCLC, health sciences databases, and bibliographic control of medical journals to locate and retrieve journal articles, monographs, and audiovisual materials required by VANTHCS staff. Reciprocates service by providing materials from VANTHCS collections requested by staff in other medical libraries.
• Incumbent evaluates the Library's collection to identify gaps in content, select authoritative resources to fill those gaps, and to proactively identify and remove outdated materials from the collection. • Assists and instructs library clients in the use of VANTHCS Library's collection, services, and resources. Conducts both informal (1 on 1) and formal (face to face or web-based classes) education, teaching clients how to use electronic products, including how to effectively search databases and navigate multiple resources.
• Orients VANTHCS staff to the Library. Presents information about library resources and services to groups and committees in order to market for awareness and to encourage use of Library services.
• Assists with maintenance of the Library's Integrated Library System. Develops expert knowledge of one or more system components (ie, OPAC, cataloging, circulation, etc.) and initiates actions to ensure data integrity, smooth functioning and optimum use.

This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-07. At the lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence.
