• Ensures security controls are implemented for DHA Contractor and headquarter systems and networks while maintaining availability of patient information.
• Formulates and promulgates policy and guidelines based on federal and department laws and policies and relative to the information systems enterprise goals, technical standards, and support to the readiness mission.
• Applies and adapts new and improved approaches to the management and tracking of the Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) process.
• Consults with business area program and technical managers to clearly identify implementation measures and determine the contribution of information technology and system initiatives to the accomplishment of the overall mission and goals.
• Develops and prepares detailed evaluations of current and planned DHA Health Information Technology programs to determine compliance with approved technical standards, policies, and programmatic criteria.

• Assign, manage, review, and evaluate work of subordinates; establishes and tracks metrics while fostering teamwork in the organization.
• Set workload priorities, makes assignments based upon the difficulty, complexity, type of work, employee capabilities and adjusts as required.
• Approve performance standards and evaluates the performance of employees.
• Serve as a contracting officer may be required to have an unlimited warrant authority for government contracts for procurement of health care providers, medical equipment and supplies, facility maintenance and environmental services contracts.
• Continuously evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of all contractual and/or business operations actions assigned, and the acquisition processes and procedures executed.

• Implements and enforces all Defense Health Agency cyber security policies and procedures, as defined by its security Assessment and Authorization (A and A) documentation.
• Creates and updates all Cyber Security related documentation, including but not limited to, local area network (LAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN) policies and procedures as needed.
• Initiates protective or corrective measures when a cyber security incident or vulnerability is discovered according to the system’s Incident Response Plan.
• Ensures that Department of Defense (DoD) information system recovery processes are monitored, and that cyber security features and procedures are properly restored.
• Monitors LAN/WLAN performance utilization using wireless and wired network monitoring utilities to ensure optimum performance of Information Technology (IT) resources.
• Directs or performs configuration or reconfiguration changes of LAN/WLANs based on Information Assurance (IA) requirements or changes, current and future network requirements or command changes of mission requirements.
• Analyzes and resolves enterprise LAN/WLAN systems hardware/software failures at locations world-wide.

DUTIES
This is a bargaining unit position located in Dallas, Texas. Direct patient care in outpatient specialty clinics, inpatient care, and shared on-call coverage is expected with Board Certified in neurology with broad knowledge of neurology, including multiple sclerosis and clinical neuroimmunology. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nervous system. This requires ordering tests to evaluate results to provide proper care to the Veterans.

If patients need arises, the Neurologist may be reassigned within the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am- 4:30pm; Includes Rotating On-Call; Some telework may be available.
