What Pharmacy Services & Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health

Responsible for the prompt and accurate delivery and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals or oncology pharmaceuticals to medical care providers in accordance with customer demand and requirements of the assigned route. Prepares doses for shipment, prepares cases, wipes doses, and loads and unloads containers in keeping with the prescribed safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT).

Schedule

• 40 hours per week. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with a start time ranging from 2:00am to 8:00am. Must be able to be on-call at least one weekday per month and one weekend day per month (living within 30 miles of pharmacy), Must be in the on-call rotation and weekend rotation, and available to work rotating holidays and shifts based on business needs. Flexible to work overtime when needed. Candidate must be flexible to work different days, hours and schedules based on business need.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehicle (non-cdl)
• Packages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containers
• Uses a handheld tablet to scan customer orders for accuracy, obtain route stop information and navigation 
• Processes packages returned from customer locations
• Maintains vehicles in proper working condition and may perform minor roadside repairs
• Performs general facility cleaning and other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
• Minimum of  18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
• Prior delivery driving experience a plus
• Ability to lift containers weighing up to 75 pounds
• Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
• Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work weekends or be in a weekend rotation required

Primary responsibilities include:

• Communicate BD’s long term strategic direction to the customer and demonstrate the value proposition of the Diagnostic product portfolio to be consistent with the needs of the customer.

• Learn and become competent in BD’s women’s health and molecular offering to serve as a an expert to drive demand within the designated physician market.

• Works closely with the Local BD POD structure in the region to identify and close new accounts, attain, or exceed the overall sales plan for the designated platform of products within the WHS territory.

• Develops and implements a regional and strategic account sales plan involving multiple stakeholders and buyers in the hospital / laboratory adoption of designated products and platforms.

• Calls on prospective customers, create demand, communicate medical, clinical, and patient outcome benefits, deliver product information and demonstrations, and prepare economic models / proposals and quotes within company guidelines.

• Develops and implements sales and marketing plans, including customer profiling, targeting and call schedules, to ensure achievement of all sales objectives

• Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively with all BD personnel as a member of the POD structure to achieve regional objectives through the communication of successful tactics and recommendations for continuous improvements in procedures, strategies, and specific processes.

• Works with key support staff and other technical support team members, to develop and implement key account evaluation plans and to update colleagues on a regular basis.

• Generates leads and sales by participating in state, regional, and national meetings as directed by Sales Management.

• Participates on cross-functional product launch teams.  Work closely with the other IDS sales team members and Marketing Product Managers to gather best practice and centers of excellence data.

• Actively participates in all training sessions and demonstrate proficiency by testing or other means as assigned at session completion.

• Manages administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget (free goods / samples), timely administrative and call reporting, funnel, and competitive data entries, use and maintenance of Company assets and adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions, as applicable, and all consistent with BD Company policy.

Minimum qualifications include:

• BA/BS required; Life Sciences or Biological areas preferred.

• 3+ years medical sales experience preferred.

• Previous experience with (Women’s Health, and/or products in the medical marketplace) involving complex selling situations highly preferred.

• Proven track record in developing new capital equipment business on a yearly basis.

• Must be self-motivated to succeed and have a mastery of the complex sales process.

• Computer proficiency is required, including skills with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of current U.S. healthcare trends that can be integrated into region sales strategies.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The registered professional nurse Home Therapies RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP).  This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. Assesses and manages patients’ response to home dialysis training and treatment therapy by following prescribed predetermined protocols and communicates patient related issues to the physician as needed. HOW YOU'LL WORK:
You’ll assume ultimate accountability and leadership for the assessment of the patient condition and plan of care. You will case manage and provide clinical care under the direction of the physician. You’ll educate patients and their family members and ensures the safety of the patient. You will work autonomously, so you need to be efficient in managing your time. • Plan of Care: Observe and monitor patient conditions and perform OASIS assessments (If you don’t already know this assessment, we will teach you!) to develop an individualized care plan and adjust as needs change.

• Minimize Patient Risk: Administer medication as prescribed by the physician and help decrease re-hospitalizations by prioritizing visits for high-risk patients.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 2 may be an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) for new employees who meet the RN CAP 2 criteria or attained through advancement from RN CAP 1. This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state, and federal regulations.

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record, makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor or Physician as needed.
• Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family.
• Directs and provides, in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients.
• Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource, leader, coach, mentor and role model for new and incumbent employees by setting examples of appropriate behavior, work habits and attitudes towards patients, co-workers, supervisors and the company at the facility, and area level. 
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures are performed and reschedules missed or insufficient laboratory collections.
• Identifies expected outcomes, documents, and updates the nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Ensures patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options.
• Participates in education and quality improvement projects at the facility and area level as directed by Supervisor.
• May serve as a Preceptor to new employees.
• Required to complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting, moving of patients and assisting with ambulation.  Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance.

• The employee may occasionally be required to move, with assistance, machines, and equipment of up to 200 lbs., and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet. 
• The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. 
• May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
• Day to day work includes desk work, computer work and interaction with patients, facility/hospital staff and physicians.
• The position may require travel to training sites or other facilities.

SUPERVISION:

• Assigned oversight of Patient Care Technicians//LVN/LPNs/RNs as a Team Leader or designated Nurse in Charge, after meeting all the following:
  •  Successful completion of all FKC education and training requirements for new employees.
  •  Must have a minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN.

EDUCATION and LICENSURE:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Entry level for RNs with minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience

Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) Multi-modality Cross Trained

• Cross trained to deliver patient care across multiple modalities
• Responsible for maintaining skill set in each cross-trained modality for the delivery of safe and effective patient care
  • Communicates and collaborates with operational and clinical leaders to support maintenance of skills
• Ensures the provision of safe and comprehensive care of patients within the chosen modalities in accordance with all company policies and procedures
