As a Counsellor, you'll bring experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and you will be familiar with a step-care approach to therapy. You will have a bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology or related field with a minimum 2-year post degree experience in counselling and be BACP accredited. The purpose of this exciting new role is to support the delivery of a range of psychological interventions and stepped care treatment (Step 2) in a private care setting to people with common mental health problems.

As our Counsellor, you will:

• Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery.

• Undertake patient centered interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and/or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.

• Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the Nuffield Health referral protocols, and refer clients on to the relevant support agencies /GP or back into the business to step-up the person's treatment to high intensity - where our service is not appropriate.

• Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to NH and any regulations and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health.

• Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times adhering to the information governance guidelines policy.

• Be aware of and keep up to date with advances in treatment for common mental health problems.

• Keep up to date all records in relation to continuing professional development and maintain up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery. models/developments.

The role of an NHS 111 Call Handler (Health Advisor)

When you ring 111 or 999, your call goes through to a call handler based in one of our 3 Emergency Operation/Contact Centres. These staff are trained to use the NHS Pathways system to provide assistance in a variety of situations, from minor illness to life threatening situations. The assistance you will provide will range from offering lifesaving advice whilst an ambulance is on route, to directing callers to other more
suitable services.

This role can be demanding, challenging and ultimately very rewarding however, it's not for everyone. Applicants will need to have a range of skills to be able to deal with often stressful and emotional situations, whilst also demonstrating compassion and empathy to all callers, no matter what the situation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Strategic Command team on an on call basis as the Strategic Medical Advisor (SMA). The role forms an integral part of the NHS response to major, complex and critical incidents, providing advanced medical advice at a range of emergency incidents.

This role provides a 24 hour on-call capability across the Trust geographical area.

The SMA is principally responsible for monitoring overall hospital capacity and ensuring the tactical level has access to the clinical resources it requires, particularly if national mutual aid is required from other sectors of the NHS.

Salary

Provide specialist guidance and support to the ambulance incident coordination centre, assessing the medical implications and response to any major or mass casualty incident, as well as rising tide and public health incidents.

Before additional medical resources are requested the Medical Advisor (MA) and Ambulance Incident Commander (AIC) should agree on their role at the scene and consider if this is the most effective use of resources.

Communicate with MA to establish the nature and complexity of casualties’ injuries so that appropriate plans and preparations are made to distribute patients.

Ensure that appropriate Clinical advice is available (e.g via on scene expertise such as CCPs) to the ambulance clinicians and HART Team(s) attending the scene to ensure that the best possible outcomes for patients are achieved.

A key role will be ensuring wider patient safety within the Organisation during an incident.

To communicate clinician to clinician with the Acute Trusts and Foundation Trusts who are providing casualty receiving facilities or on standby to receive casualties. The Acute Trusts should be able to provide accurate information about each participating Acute Trust capacity for theatre, critical care and bed availability. Clear information from the MA about children as casualties and burns patients is particularly important.

About the job You will be based in one of our Mental Health Support Teams. You will be a member of a team working alongside other mental health professionals. You will work in education settings and in the community delivering a range of evidence informed interventions, under supervision. You will undertake mental health assessments (including risk assessments) and interventions based on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model. You will work directly with children and young people of primary and secondary school age, and in some cases their parents and carers. You will support MHST work to develop and deliver whole school approaches to emotional wellbeing and mental health. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.

Our four multidisciplinary teams include Psychiatrists, Administrators, Nurses, ClinicalPsychologists and psychological therapists, Early Years workers, and some specialist Midwives and Health Visitors who are all trained in adult and infant mental health. The Service has extremely good working partnerships with a wide range of primary and secondary care professionals, including Midwives, Health Visitors, Social Care, CAMHS and Adult Mental Health Services across Sussex and is a key member of the South East Coast Strategic Network. You will join a multi-disciplinary service, comprising four separate teams, providing specialist care for women with moderate to serious mental health crisis such as perinatal psychosis, bipolar disorder or severe uni-polar depression whilst they are pregnant or in the first 12 months after birth. This is a rare opportunity contribute to the skilful delivery of CBT alongside other psychology and psychological therapy (PPT) interventions within the four teams to both women and their babies. You will embed the four core PPT offers; birth trauma, perinatal OCD, post MBU interventions and parent infant psychotherapy (PIP), with a strategic and practice focus on CBT. You will be specifically responsible for the development and oversight of CBT and will be expected to have extensive experience in delivering CBT in for a perinatal population. It is desirable that you will be accredited, or working towards formal accreditation, and have extensive experience of CBT supervision and have received specialist supervision. The post holder must have an accredited training in psychological therapy in CBT with extensive practice hours (60 minimum) within a perinatal context, and will have significant experience of working individually with adults within the early years or perinatal period. As an 8a, you will also have specific supervisory responsibility for other psychological therapists and psychologists, where appropriate, and specifically in relation to the oversight of CBT and accreditation. You will also need demonstrable experience in liaising and working with commissioners within a service context. Location: Crawley, West Sussex

Contract Type: Locum ongoing contract

Occupational Therapist Pay Rate: £38 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Social Services Occupational Therapist:

• To undertake strengths-based assessments applying relevant legislation and utilising Occupational Therapy skills and knowledge to develop and implement a plan of support, aimed at improving wellbeing and delivering outcomes for people.
• Manage a caseload collaborating with people and family or friend carers, undertake strengths-based assessments and reviews, identifying eligible needs and personalised outcomes.
• To develop and implement support plans, aimed at improving wellbeing and delivering outcomes, including utilising community assets, and ensuring that eligible needs are met.

Requirements of the Social Services Occupational Therapist:

• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
• Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
• Recent experience within social services / local authority / council
• Registered with the HCPC
