PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a Contracts Administrator II for Fresenius Medical Care you play an integral role in the Contracts Management Department. You are responsible for making highly-confidential, timely decisions based on evidence and on merit, within your appropriate authority level, and take responsibility for the results; gathering all relevant information, utilizing an analytical and logical approach to problem solving, and accurately assessing impact of decisions on your own business area and overall.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Developing professional expertise; applies company policies and procedures to ensure the successful implementation, coordination, and administration of contracting and pricing procedures for the Dept. This may include contract terms and conditions, products and prices for various market segments (i.e., pharmaceutical, medical device, home therapies, government, default, list, etc.) and customer-types (i.e., internal, external, wholesaler/distributor, joint venture contract pricing. Accountable for contracts management systems and other administration.
• Implements, coordinates, and administers contract terms and conditions, products and prices in Salesforce.com and IFS for various market and customer-type segments, ensuring accuracy and compliance to applicable procedures.
• Acts as administrator for contracts systems, including contracts management system (Salesforce.com), IFS pricing, Birst, Microsoft Applications and prepares routine and ad hoc reporting.
• Responsible for wholesaler/distributor price notifications, including eligible entities. For example, prepare, submit, disseminate and administer business information, such as contract pricing, terms and eligible entities maintenance, necessary to support contract business.
• Proactively identifies and resolves contract and pricing issues based on standard operating procedures, industry knowledge, business analysis, and company objectives for assigned customers (i.e. wholesalers, clinics, hospitals, affiliates). As necessary involve other departments such as, but not limited to, Rebates and Reimbursement, Accounts Receivable, and Sales.
• Builds relationships with contract customers and other departments to support objectives and responsibilities.
• Administers price escalation procedures, updates pricing and prepares customer correspondence and maintains related records.
• Uses analytical models and data, including but not limited to, supporting analysis, documentation and price/sales reports to support negotiations of contract terms and department administration.
• Develops and masters familiarity with the information systems utilized within the department (Salesforce.com, IFS and other BI Applications).
• Identifies recurring issues and proposes solutions to the issues to immediate Supervisor.
• Drives process improvement within scope of their work. Creates and maintains detailed work instructions.
• Leads and or participates in specific team projects, as directed. Provides guidance and advice relating to Contracts to other employees.
• Maintains complete, accurate, and up-to-date contract records, files, logs and reports including, but not limited to, Contract Status and Expired Contracts.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Builds productive working relationships.
• Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations. • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 2 – 5 years of contracts and/or commercial operations related experience; with an advanced degree no experience may be necessary.
• Knowledge of Microsoft suite products necessary, including proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment is essential.
• Must be well-organized and be able in work in a demanding environment.
• Experience and knowledge of commercial operations, shared services, SalesForce.com, IFS and Birst is a plus.
• Fast-paced environment requires flexibility and ability to re-establish priorities as necessary.
• Demands during peak periods may require work hours outside of normal working hours.
• Information systems, financial and/or contracts background a plus.
