Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Serves as a Prosthetic Representative completing a variety of prosthetic and sensory aids assignments, projects, activities independently to meet PSASs long-and-short term program goals. Performs technical, administrative, and analytical prosthetic related assignments for the PSAS.

Duties

• Serves as clerical support for the Chief Nurse (CN) of Ambulatory Care Remote sites- Nursing Service.
• The primary function of the position requires the employee to perform all clerical duties required to support the CN. The incumbent coordinates prioritization of work with the CN to assure that work is completed in a timely manner.
• Performs typing and filing, prepares materials for publication such as pamphlets, certificates, forms, graphs, technical manuals or comparable items.

This position is responsible for carrying out a variety of health information functions. The incumbent performs duties related to the receipt, intake, scanning, indexing, quality control, destruction, and transfer of health and administrative information. The incumbent is responsible for electronically scanning various health information documents into VistA Imaging and assuring that the scanned documents are associated to the correct patient, consult or progress note for all Administrative, In-house Clinical and Community Care Record document types in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). The incumbent must follow scanning procedures established by the National Regulations and Scanning SOP to include administrative quality checks of all documents prior to scanning/indexing. After completing the scanning and indexing process, confirms record integrity and reviews the image quality in the VistA Imaging display. Ensures regular quality checks are carried out according to prescribed timeframes and criteria. The incumbent notifies the Supervisor when images are scanned into the wrong patient's record, are indexed incorrectly or are corrupted.

When records are received, the incumbent reviews documents for appropriate scanning criteria and ensures that all necessary health/administrative information meeting the criteria is integrated into CPRS through the PC scanning software and hardware. The incumbent ensures prior to scanning that all paper clips, staples, tape, and loose hanging tape are removed from the documents. The incumbent scans all documents by indexing using the appropriate Clinical or Administrative setup buttons in VistA Capture to index into VistA Imaging to facilitate future reference. The incumbent also correctly indexes all documents imported from other devices or sources, including pdf, tiff, jpeg files, etc. in VistA Imaging. Maintains confidentiality of all electronic records and paper components of the health record; follows appropriate procedures when mailing and destroying health information in paper or electronic format; and ensures sensitive (employee-Veteran) health records are maintained in an extra-secure manner and available only to requestors in the scope of their official duties.

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician helps to provide technical support functions in accordance with accepted policies and procedures. As directed by a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs clerical duties and other miscellaneous functions as needed for the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy.

Responsible for performing the established medication distribution functions on a daily basis according to accepted pharmacy policy and procedures.

Responsible for administrating certain prescribed medications via the directly observed therapy as mandated by the Health Services Manual.

Prepares prescription labels as appropriate. Prepares parenteral medications using aseptic techniques in the laminar flow hood. Delivers interim doses to floor. The staff psychologist is assigned to the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) located in Austin, TX. The graduate psychologist's primary duties involve initial biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and psychological treatment to Veterans with a wide range of co-occurring disorders, including but not limited to anxiety, PTSD, depression, substance use, and personality disorders. The BHIP graduate psychologist is a member of an interdisciplinary team in general outpatient mental health and provides evidence-based individual, couples, and group psychotherapy to Veterans with complex mental health problems (e.g., acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, integrative behavioral couples therapy, problem solving therapy, and/or dialectical behavior therapy).
