- The Physician is the Gastroenterology Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice.
- The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to the study, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the digestive system.
- This physician will perform or assist in related procedures.
- Gastroenterology is the discipline whose providers study the normal function and diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver.
- The Physician works as a member of the Gastroenterology Medical team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital. There may be sometimes that the clinician would have to visit a CBOC for the purpose of meetings or trainings.
- There may be other duties as assigned or required.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment):Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Authorized: This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
