Functions entail creation and maintenance of databases to support existing and new programs; provision of assistance with coordinating the monthly, quarterly, and annual nursing education calendar; assisting with scheduling and facilitation of faculty and student orientation and affiliated agreements; Talent Management System administration; purchase card holder duties; completion of quarterly and annual reports for Nursing Education programs. In addition, the incumbent will maintain PIV sponsor status supporting the timely provision of name badges to students, faculty, and agency staff. The incumbent will initiate and facilitate the contracting process for procurement of departmental goods and services as a Contracting Office Representative (COR). Duties included but not limited too:

• Program Resource Services and Support 50 percent Serves as the purchase card clerk for the National Nursing Employees Initiative (NNEI) and the Employee Initiative Scholarship Program (EISP) fund control points. This role involves ongoing correspondence with NNEI and ESIP participants and with participating colleges and universities.
• Serves as program clerk and assist with the management of multiple fund control points including payments, reconciliation and generating financial reports on a quarterly and annual basis. Assist in the hiring of program participants for the VALOR, PBNR and VANAP program. Initiates recruitment 52's, organizes the interview schedule and coordinates interview process. Sponsors PIV cards for all new agency, student, faculty, and program participants.
• Assist in planning, reviewing, and reporting of data and results regarding new employee orientation and contract agency nurse credentials.
• Coordinates incoming data, reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omission and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is
  complete and accurate. Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system.
• Responsible for the technical monitoring and administration of contracts. Ensures coordination and communication among contractor, contracting officer and pertinent government personnel.
• The incumbent develops method and procedures for office automation tasks and identifies and solves problems in existing methods and procedures.

• Provide direct surgical support of a highly specialized nature to patients undergoing surgery including the newest and most complex, state-of-the-art procedures in multi-specialties.
• Select, assemble, and organize required supplies (setup, connect, test, operate drills, saws, etc.) and instruments for specific surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments and equipment to the surgeon during surgical procedures by anticipating the surgeon’s needs.
• Verify whether the counts are correct or incorrect and communicate with the circulating nurse throughout the case to insure no items are retained in the surgical wound.
• Clean or terminate operating room after surgical procedures. Remove and properly dispose of soiled and/or contaminated linens/materials.

• Perform daily quality assurance testing on all equipment used in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Select appropriate chemical or washing agent necessary for decontaminating or cleaning surgical instruments.
• Assemble, inspect and package instrumentation appropriately by their instruction of use.
• Sterile storage of instrumentation, pulling case carts, inventory stock, removing or replacing damaged supplies/sets.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the Department of Health, The Joint Commission, OSHA and other industry standards and regulations, as well as those of medical treatment facility.
• Check the expiration date on all sterile supply items, removes all outdated items, and rotate the stock.
• Inventory emergency procedural carts, scanned into instrument tracking system and lock with proper lock.
• Replenish case carts to retain the established quota level for each item on the cart.
• Interpret test results, take appropriate action based on results and log all results.

• Respond to on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses; sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening.
• Conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of his condition and searches for medical alert symbols.
• Prioritize treatments for patient having multiple problems and employs a variety of established emergency medicine techniques, methods and equipment to the appropriate medical facility.
• Document procedures or treatment rendered.
• Perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections and minor repairs on emergency and patient transport vehicles and a variety of medical equipment.
