The physician will be responsible for the medical management of a panel of sleep patients assigned to them. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Direct patient care duties may include, but not limited to the following:

• Greeting and escorting patients
• Triaging patients to an audiologist based on complexity of the procedures being completed

Major Duties:

Maintenance & Repair: 100% Performs visual examinations and operational tests to determine the need for and performance of repair, maintenance, and construction work in the electrical trade at the worker level of difficulty. Work assignments include but not limited to pulling new services, providing electrical inspections on personal equipment, installation, programming, and repair of outlets, relays, and switches; installation and maintenance of a variety of lighting systems, and testing circuits for completeness after making repairs. Performs other duties as assigned.

FACTORS:

Factor 1 - Skill and Knowledge: The incumbent is expected to ensure they have a working knowledge of all national and local electrical codes, comply with all EPA standards for parts disposals, have full knowledge of and practice all safety regulations pertaining to his/her duties. The incumbent must have the ability to read and follow wiring diagrams. Electrical worker must have the skill needed to remove and replace fixtures, control and to make repairs such as tightening connections, wrapping exposed wiring and solder loose wire leads to contact points. He/she must have the skill needed to measure, cut, and bend such things as wire conduit to specified lengths and angles. Must have skill in the use of hand tools and a small variety of test equipment. Must have the ability to research intricate details of progressively advanced lighting components and systems as well as be able to coordinate and facilitate lighting maintenance alongside various lighting contractors.
Factor 2 - Responsibility: The Electrical Worker is under the supervision of the Electric/HVAC Maintenance Supervisor and receives assignments from the supervisor either verbally or by written work order. On more difficult assignments, the incumbent may assist journeymen and receive instructions from this individual. Incumbent is charged with the responsibility of selecting the proper materials and tools to accomplish assignments; and determining proper procedures to complete the assigned tasks.
Upon completion of assignments, incumbent must clean up the areas in which worked, PD #93966-A removing debris, returning unused parts, cleaning, and returning tools. A higher-grade electrician or supervisor gives advice on unusual problems and checks to see that completed work meets requirements. Incumbent must complete assignments adhering to the Safety Codes pertaining to this field of work. Incumbent performs a wide variety of self-directed and supervised work. Generally, work orders not requiring the attention or level of expertise required by a journeyman position are assigned for independent work. Incumbent is also assigned to assist skilled journeymen on more complex, unusual, and difficult tasks, receiving instructions and on the job training in progressively more difficult skills and associated knowledge to develop appropriate skills and knowledge of the trades.
This may be required due to high complexity of the task requiring the assistance of the worker under the review of the assigned journeyman or where the addition of a second journeyman is not required by the difficulty or where the duties can be more economically completed by the worker. Completes job and equipment maintenance records and assembles lists of basic materials and supplies needed for work assignments. Must actively and continually develop and apply an increasing understanding, knowledgeability and skills through on-the-job training and experience; review and study of technical and administrative publications, codes, and standards; and other training, career development and continuing education opportunities. Wearing of the prescribed uniform and use of appropriate personal protective safety equipment is required, as well as conformance with government-wide, agency, and local facility policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Duties:

• Identifying high risk Veterans aged 55 and older with a smoking history generated prompt or via screening primary care provider list.
• A minimum of 80-100 Veterans will be screened each month.
• Nurse will contact Veteran and present the lung cancer screening questionnaire, offer smoking cessation tools, low dose CT (LDCT) scan using the opt-out/nudge method.
• Place orders for LDCT scan and follow up the results and follow next steps, depending on results.
• Maintain a dashboard on a database for the Veteran with reminders for annual LDCT for three years.
• Coordinate referrals to pulmonary service and document outcome on the screening dashboard.
• Coordinate with the precision oncology program at Ann Arbor Veteran Affairs Medical Center on regular meetings to discuss metrics of the lung cancer screening program.
• Effectively work with all levels of staff, promoting collaborating efforts, acting as a liaison between the patients and caregivers and the providers, and facilitating communication among the multi-disciplinary care team to prevent fragmented or delayed care.
