What you'll be doing:
You will support the drive of a proactive safety culture, by developing and upskilling your team to consistently support Veolia business operations in their day to day activities. And by playing an active part in the improvement programme, you will be leading your team to be part of the development and leading the implementation.
You will:
- Work across Veolia operations, ensuring a consistent approach on how sites are supported and audited, working with the SLA on the frequency of site visits depending on the risk profile, supporting the drive of a pro-active culture by ensuring your team actively supports the operations; including solutions and sharing good practice.
- Also working in partnership with other National R&A Managers and Sector Heads to ensure consistency and understanding key priorities.
- Be passionate in developing the team not only in technical skills but also their professional development including career progression.
- In addition, upskilling to work across the different site types in Veolia and working with stakeholders at various levels across the business.
- Actively support the Improvement programme by engaging with your team and supporting them to be involved in the development and review of the projects, as well as lead the implementation of the improvement programmes within the respective area ensuring buy-in from your team and operational teams to support the effectiveness of the delivery.
- Carry out trend analysis to identify areas for improvement and where operations require further support.
- Lead or ensure your team supports the event investigation depending on the severity and review the quality of investigations carried out by the team to ensure the route cause has been identified, and where appropriate support the Sector Head on producing a performance review (lessons learnt).
- Liaise with regulatory authorities /auditors and/ or customers as and when required, and work with operational teams to ensure improvements are identified and incorporated into site improvement plans.
- Presentation skills - You will be delivering key messages to all Senior Leadership/Key Stakeholders
What we're looking for:
You will have working knowledge of the fundamentals of Risk Management (IRM), as well as managing Process Performance / Managing Change and Continual Improvement (CQI).
People management and previous experience of the development of a team will be key - as is experience of different operational activities with a motivation to drive improvements within the business to achieve a proactive culture.
You will also need strong communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels.
Having experience of implementing successful change programmes and an appreciation of all aspects of R&A including H&S, Environment and Risk is also key.
And if you have achieved or are working towards a management and leadership degree/ certification (ILM Level 5 or equivalent) this would be advantageous but not essential.
