This is a well-established joint post between Bath University and NBT which is equally split between both roles. The post holder will be responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing practice-based learning at an undergraduate levelandbe part of the Pre-Op Surgery pharmacy team providing a clinical service to the specialty.

This joint appointment will involve working collaboratively with other practice educators to design, deliver and assess practice based learning elements of the pharmacy undergraduate degree course including our very successful Clinical Learning in Practice (CLIP) model. The successful individual would be required to cover a range of face to face teaching activities and elements of assessment. There is also a requirement to provide pastoral support to individual students.

Whilst working within the hospital you will be part of the Pre-Op surgery team, providing cover to the clinic on a sessional basis and supporting the clinical management of surgical patients at NBT.

The role has a major focus on teaching and potential candidates must therefore have excellent presentation and communication skills, have completed a clinical diploma, and be able to work both at the University in Bath and Southmead hospital in Bristol.

Design and deliver high quality teaching which is informed by significant professional experience gained via practice, research/study and teaching experience, to undergraduate students on the new MPharm programme - to include lectures, workshops, applied pharmacy practice skills sessions and supervision of dissertations or projects, assessment and marking and pastoral care of students, in line with Department and University policy. 1. 1. Responsible for the provision, management and development of a highly specialist pharmaceutical service to the Anaesthetics, Surgery, Critical Care and Renal (ASCR) Division to achieve a high standard of efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Responsible for the provision, management and development of a highly specialist pharmaceutical service to the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinics and managing the pharmaceutical care in the per and peri-operative period.
3. Clinically screen prescriptions to ensure the safe, efficient, evidence-based and rational use of medicines in line with the BNSSG Formulary and departmental policies so that risks to patients areminimised.

As a Customer Services Advisor, you will:

• Handle enquiries and general queries.

• Assist in financial administration.

• Resolve Data Quality issues.

• Work with the Business Administration Manager to continually improve process.

To succeed as a Customer Service Advisor, you will have:

• Experience of working in a busy customer facing business support function.

• Be a confident and customer-focused communicator with the ability to manage, appraise and interpret the right data, and to present it in a timely and professional manner.

• Ideally be educated to GCSE in English and Maths, with NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or equivalent.

• Checking, receipting and storage of all pharmaceuticals for use within the business
• Moving of bulk pallets of fluids
• Inventory stock rotation/expiry date checking
• Operating a handheld pallet truck trained an advantage but not essential, as on the job training can be given in this by R+D trained trainer

What you'll need to succeed

• Heavy goods handling experience, e.g. moving bulk pallets of stock
• GCSE English and Mathematics grade C/4 or above.
• Basic I.T skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with high level of attention to detail in relation to pharmaceutical products, form, strength, quantity etc. on the job training provided
• Good time management
• Able to work shift patterns between 08:00 - 18:00 Mon-Fri
• Weekend work - Saturday 10:00 - 14:00 as and when required

To provide a Medicines Management service to the allocated prison(s) on a weekly basis with the professional support of a prison services pharmacist To oversee the ordering/supply of repeat prescriptions To supervise assistants, when in the dispensary in providing dispensing services for all the prisons To dispense prescriptions and stock items when in the dispensary To work towards accreditation as a checking technician and/or medicines administration to provide final dispensing checks and medicines administration services, if not already achieved To ensure high standards of work in the dispensary and when out on prison visits and to ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are read and adhered to. To manage own workload when providing medicines management services. To provide weekly clinical visits to the allocated prison(s), under the professional supervision of a pharmacist. On these visits the post-holder will: undertake a stock top-up service for all areas in which medicines are stored. review the expiry dates and storage facilities for all such medicines and report any deficiencies to the prison service pharmacist for that prison assist the prison service pharmacist to provide advice to prisoners and staff about the appropriate use of medicines undertake 3-monthly controlled drugs stock checks and report any issues to the prison service pharmacist for that prison Promote healthy lifestyles for offenders in line with local and national guidelines or promotions. Administer medicines to offenders against a valid prescription on the house blocks To demonstrate on-going continual professional development (CPD) and be responsible for self-development and learning within the field of pharmacy or other specialty where appropriate.
