To provide a Medicines Management service to the allocated prison(s) on a weekly basis with the professional support of a prison services pharmacist To oversee the ordering/supply of repeat prescriptions To supervise assistants, when in the dispensary in providing dispensing services for all the prisons To dispense prescriptions and stock items when in the dispensary To work towards accreditation as a checking technician and/or medicines administration to provide final dispensing checks and medicines administration services, if not already achieved To ensure high standards of work in the dispensary and when out on prison visits and to ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are read and adhered to. 1. Provide full secretarial support to the consultants and member of their teams regarding general medical duties and specialist work. 2. To liaise and communicate effectively with GPs, Practice Staff, Patients, Hospital Staff, Community Nursing Teams, ERS and Funding Team Personnel. 3. Audio typing using digital dictation system to ensure routine NHS referral letters and private referrals are distributed efficiently and within a 5 working day period. Ensuring appropriate enclosures are attached to all referrals as necessary. 4. Keep up to date with changes in referral pathways, new proformas and funding criteria via emails sent to the practice. 6. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be providing a medicines management service to patients within the prison with the professional support of a prison service pharmacist. You will dispense prescriptions and stock items, whilst supervising assistants when in the dispensary. There will also be elements of stock control involved in your role, such as undertaking stock top-up services and reviewing expiry dates and storage facilities for all medicines, reporting any deficiencies to the prison service pharmacist.

4. Advise all health care professionals on the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
5. Promote the safe, efficient and rational prescribing of medicines in line with current trust policies. Record pharmaceutical interventions and attend clinical meetings as required.
6. Provide a comprehensive and thorough enquiry answering service and answer pharmaceutical enquiries related to the hospital’s specialist services. Liaise with directorate and regional drug information services as required.
7. Ensure that agreed local and national guidelines, policies and procedures are affected at ward level.
8. To report medication errors, incidents and complaints using the appropriate trust systems

The CPI are a friendly and supportive team, who are highly valued within local services. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team inclusive of working to Joint Standard Operating Procedures with colleagues from the local Acute trust. To hold excellent working relationships with Locality CAMHS and Acute services, attending joint planning meetings & support ongoing formulation and treatment for Children & Young People (CYP). To provide meal support to families, you will be present before during and after the meal to offer real time support and role modelling. To manage your own caseload of young people, and provide a supportive environment for B4 Support Workers to carry out visits and psycho-social interventions with direct or indirect supervision. To continually assess and respond to changes in presentation inclusive of dynamic risk assessment and management. To support young people and families experiencing high levels of distress at home, providing calm and containing care in the face of distress.
