The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at Middlewood Clinic will be made up of the Registered Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, Healthcare Workers, Psychologist, Dietician, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker.

The Mental Health Intellectual Disability Initiative - Adults (MHIDI-A)/Stronger together team is part of the Casey Adult Mental Health program and is located in Thomas Street, Dandenong. We provide consultation, multidisciplinary specialist assessment and treatment to people who have been diagnosed over the age of 16 years, with developmental-intellectual disability and a co-existing diagnosed mental health condition or suspected mental health condition (dual disability), many of whom will have complex presentations and challenging behaviours. We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Educator - Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join us, working full time, 80 hours per fortnight (with a monthly ADO).

A Day in the Life:
This role works in collaboration with the clinical team and a range of internal and external stakeholders, to assist in improved outcomes for consumers with diagnosed or suspected mental illness and co-existing intellectual disability (dual disability).
This will be achieved by developing, implementing and evaluating education and training as in relation to the MHIDI-A program objectives. This role will also carry a small clinical case load.
A key requirement of this post is education and capacity building of health and disability care professionals.
This opportunity is full time role ongoing role working Monday to Friday.
The position will also work in collaboration with other team members to consolidate the Model of Care, formulate clear service policy and guidelines and ensure the service is compliant with Quality & Safety, OHS and all other areas of reporting.

• Oversees Professional Architecture/Engineering (A/E) and Construction contracts to ensure the contractor is in compliance with all contractual requirements, healthcare regulations and codes, specifications and schedules are met in accordance with the government's requirements for VA owned and leased facilities.
• The position provides engineering support to the assigned healthcare system and is responsible for maintaining construction specifications and drawings, maintaining technical reference library of codes, standards, and other regulations which are applicable to the engineering construction industries Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and others.
• The position serves as a healthcare engineering advisor, engineer consultant, engineer designer, contract administrator, project manager, construction coordinator, and instructor during the design and construction of all projects assigned.
• The position is responsible for providing healthcare engineering support to all assigned projects.
• The position is responsible for performing the duties of a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) on professional design and construction projects, training service staff on technical issues and assisting the service staff on the completion of technical and administrative issues regarding infrastructure related operations of the medical facility.
• The position serves as the Integrated Project Team (IPT) Chairperson, comprised of diverse and multi­discipline professional team members, consisting of internal and external stakeholders, and is a recognized expert in project management.
• The position participates in planning deliberations and contributes significantly to the management decision-making process through teamwork, innovation, coordination, and collaboration with other senior members and stakeholders to ensure objectives are met toward meeting the healthcare system's overall strategic plan goals.

The duties of the position may include but, are not limited to:

• Responsible tor determining Veteran eligibility status for BT mileage reimbursement and requests for payment of special mode transportation (ambulance, air ambulance, wheelchair, etc.).
• Processes BT mileage reimbursement requests, assigning the correct Fund Control Point (FCP) to each transaction.
• Performs BT financial Co-pay tests to determine BT eligibility and notifies veteran of outcome.
• Incumbent serves as a liaison between medical center personnel, Veterans and their representatives requesting transportation, and is responsible for arranging and coordinating, ambulette, ambulance, and airline trips etc., using the most cost-efficient mode to the Government. Incumbent ensures completion of consults for special mode trips in Computer Patient Record System (CPRS) daily.

• Daily responsibilities include transportation appointment scheduling, collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of VTS and SMT programs.
• Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports.
• Aggregates incoming data from a variety of sources.
• Reviews documents, reports, and/or application for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
• Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system.
• Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, program
  trends, performance measures, compliance strategies, etc.
