PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Director, Financial Analysis is responsible for providing timely and accurate analytical support through subordinates in the creation and maintenance of financial models for diverse business development initiatives.  The incumbent reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control and provides relevant fiscal information to management.  The Director, Financial Analysis provides the overall direction of the execution of functions, ensuring best practices while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), and other regulatory requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals through the use of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company's mission and core values as a means to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business unit(s).
• Lead operational efforts through subordinates to complete the administration of business processes and services to ensure the operations effective achievement of goals within the assigned business unit(s).
• Direct and control the broad activities of the business unit(s) through the interpretation, application and implementation of company-wide policies and processes appropriate to the functional area(s).
• Ensure that budgets and schedules are within company requirements with significant organizational responsibility for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and recommendation and implementation changes of current methods.
• Oversee and direct the analysis of operations and trends, development of financial models, and provide strategic business planning support.
• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports; ensuring timely and accurate data submission and reporting.
• Develop and implement new accounting and/or finance policies and procedures through continuous improvement efforts; ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, GAAP, SOX and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor performance to the budget; identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements as necessary.
• Provide analytical support and focus; serving as a liaison to cross-divisional and management teams.
• Provide leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
• Collaborate with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
• Provide technical guidance.
• Assist with various projects as assigned.

• 6+ years' related experience.
• 3+ years' experience as a Manager, or 3+ years' experience in a senior managerial role.
• Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments.
• Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and email applications.
• Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP), corporate performance warehouse (CPM), and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, BEx, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.

Director, Strategic Pharmaceutical Sourcing - Red Oak Sourcing

Red Oak Sourcing is a 50/50 stand-alone joint venture between CVS Health and Cardinal Health, built upon a state-of-the-art data analytics platform for sourcing generic pharmaceuticals. Red Oak is one of the largest pharmaceutical sourcing entities in the United States and responsible for securing generic pharmaceutical products for over 9,000 CVS retail locations, Caremark mail-order facilities, and the Cardinal Health pharmaceutical distribution network of independent pharmacies, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.

Position Summary:

Red Oak seeks to add a Director, Strategic Pharmaceutical Sourcing to become part of our sourcing team and contribute to and help shape our bright future. Our new Director will be equal parts analytical thinker, negotiator, and relationship builder. They must have the poise and executive presence required to be a leader within the company, interact with other employees in a cross functional, company-wide manner, as well be outward facing in meetings with supplier partners and parent company contacts. This highly visible position will play a large role in shaping Red Oak’s position in the market.

The Director will participate in all aspects of the Sourcing function as they partner closely with other Sourcing Directors to develop skills in the areas of decision modeling and pricing strategy, and global supply chain logistics and innovative approaches to improve in-stock service levels. As importantly, they will observe the soft skills needed to manage, coach, develop, and mentor team members. Additionally, this role will conduct analyses on a wide variety of topics (e.g., pricing changes, product launches, contracting and portfolio risk), and support weekly and daily reporting programs to inform leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate aptitude and apprenticeship mindset

• Support resolution of supplier operational issues; Focus on global logistics and resolve product supply issues

• Support the development of innovative purchasing programs that drive optimal in-stock supply and service levels

Qualifications:

The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations to manage Oncology programs which may consist of one or more studies. This position will be responsible for initiating and leading clinical programs, inclusive of studies, across all phases, including overseeing CROs and vendors and working cross-functionally on clinical operations strategy and related initiatives. This position reports to the Executive Director, Clinical Operations, Oncology. This position will work collaboratively across the Oncology and cross-functional teams on the overall development programs and related studies to ensure successful execution of assigned projects.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Accountable for delivery of assigned clinical program/studies budget, timelines, and resource management with focus on quality, including making recommendations and decisions regarding operational strategies to support study and/or program objectives

• Develop operational strategy and clinical operations plans in support of execution of the Clinical Development Plan

• Partner and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as the Project Leader, Clinical Development Lead, Regulatory Lead, and other relevant stakeholders

• Lead and oversee execution of first-in-human through phase 4 trials, depending on lifecycle of program, in compliance with ICH/GCP, local regulations, and Moderna SOPs

• Support the selection, oversight, and management of CROs and other vendors

• Oversee site feasibility/capability assessments in collaboration with the CRO and cross-functional team

• Review and provide clinical operations input into relevant clinical documents such as the protocol, investigator brochure, regulatory documents, clinical study reports and other documents and plans as appropriate

• Manage and provide oversight to the cross functional team and CRO/vendor(s) related to all aspects of clinical trial operations

• Responsible for representing Clinical Operations on cross-functional project teams and vendor/CRO operational meetings and ensuring compliance with operational standards and procedures.

• Along with other Clinical Development personnel, represent Moderna externally to Investigators, site staff, and Key Opinion Leaders

• Perform and document study level Sponsor Oversight of outsourced clinical activities

• Communicate study-status, cost and issues to ensure timely decision-making by senior management

• Oversee/collaborate on and contribute to inspection readiness activities that support audits and regulatory inspections related to clinical trial conduct

• Maintain oversight and participate in the creation/review/training/maintenance of departmental and organizational SOPs to ensure compliance

• Lead and/or participate in clinical operations workstreams related to departmental and operating model related initiatives

• Develop and foster strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both within and external to Moderna

• Support program level deliverables/activities

• Provide oversight and mentorship to assigned Clinical Trial Managers and Clinical Trial Associates by providing clinical operations and functional area expertise and support identification and prioritization of study and program level work. May include direct line management of Clinical Operations staff.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Minimum of BA/BS with at least 10 years of trial and clinical program experience, including 6+ years of high complexity independent, global trial management experience and 2+ years of program-level management Advanced degree preferred.

• Experience in Immuno-Oncology is required. Experience in both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies is desirable. A mixture of early and late stage experience is desirable, some early development experience is required.

• Robust experience in early and late phase drug development

• Multi-dimensional Clinical Operations background with capability of devising plans for operational challenges such as site activation, subject enrollment, monitoring oversight, protocol deviation management, data cleaning, etc.

• Cross-Collaboration proficiency with other therapeutic areas and functions such as Regulatory, CMC, Biostatistics, Data Management, Finance, Program Management, etc.

• Experience in GCP inspections/audits

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, in addition to excellent organizational skills

• Proven track record of effective leadership and team-building skills in the context of a multi-disciplinary team in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
