The Chief of SPS assumes responsibility for the coordination of all aspects of the sterile processing service to include high level disinfection, sterilization, sterile storage, infection control and prevention as well as customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Ensures that all applicable Veterans Health Administration (VHA) policies and guidelines are followed and that the American Association of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) guidelines are followed per VHA Directive 1116. The Chief of SPS is an integral part of the medical center leadership team and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent is responsible for administrative functions of the SPS program which includes membership on the following committees: Infection Prevention/Control; Water Safety Committee (Biomedical Engineering); Clinical Executive Council (CEC); Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 17 Advisory Board; Clinical Product Review Committee (CPRC); Reusable Medical Device (RMD) Committee, Environment of Care (EOC) Rounds; and the Enterprise Equipment Request (EER) Committee. The Chief of SPS must establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of medical center personnel and relate effectively with customers, families, and the community as well as program and service leaders at the local and network levels. Key relationships with staff are needed to assist SPS Assistant Managers, key personnel, and Lead Medical Staff Technicians (MST) to carry out the functions and activities expected of them. Contribute ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care outcomes, policies, and objectives for the enhancement of Sterile Processing, organization wide. Assists in policy-making activities as related to customer service and the overall functioning of administrative and SPS program and collaborate with other health care staff to establish and maintain programs that cross service and/or discipline lines and influence organizational mission and health care.
The incumbent provides health system-wide leadership for critical and semicritical RMD, including sterile storage, reprocessing, standard operating procedures (SOP), competency assessment, selection, operation, and maintenance of reprocessing equipment, staff education program for RMDs, and quality management of SPS. The incumbent is responsible for assessing, monitoring, developing, and implementing corrective action plans for instrument processing, decontamination, sterilization, storage, biological monitoring, and high-level disinfection monitoring through an SPS Quality Management System.

Job Overview:

As a Lead Medical Writer on most types of writing projects. You will prepare assigned documents in accordance with IQVIA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and customer requirements as well as to the agreed timelines. Perform Senior Review of straightforward medical writing deliverables. Negotiate timelines and discusses/resolves customer comments. Provide written and verbal feedback to junior staff, and to customers when appropriate. Keep abreast of current medical and/or technical writing/regulatory knowledge, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), along with developments and advances in drug development/medical and/or technical writing.

Responsibilities:

• Writes clear and concise clinical submission documents, including clinical study reports, protocols, clinical overviews, investigator brochures, and summary documents; experience with late-stage health authority responses is a plus.

• Contributes to project plan concerning timelines as well as organization and table layout for a specific document.

• Ensures that documents meet regulations, and the key messages as defined by the team are clearly and adequately represented.

• Review and edit documents for consistency, progression, structure, and grammar.

• Review statistical analysis plans and incorporate into clinical study reports or submission documents, as applicable.

• Drive the document preparation process, manage timelines, receive, and review primary statistical output, draft, and distribute document for review, compile comments and edits, lead comment resolution meetings independently.

• Participate in team and client meetings as requested. Deliverables above plus able to work independently on a range of complex clinical documents

• Interprets, summarizes, and presents statistical and medical information to ensure accuracy of content in highly complex document types independently

• Resolves complex problems independently

Education and Experience required:

• 8+ years of experience in medical writing or related field

• Required - Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences or related field

• Preferred - Masters or PhD in Life Sciences or related field

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $124,400.00 - $211,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Job Summary:

The Country Director (CD) will be the key representative for FHI 360 activities in Nigeria. S/he will be responsible for direct supervision of Chiefs of Party (COPs) and Project Directors (PD), as assigned and updated yearly, and the primary point of contact for business development tasks in Nigeria. In coordination with the security team, s/he will ensure duty of care and safety for staff throughout Nigeria, including humanitarian operations in the Northeast of the country. S/he will coordinate closely with FHI 360’s allied organization (AHNi) and all other local organizations working with FHI 360 in Nigeria. The CD will manage Country Office (CO) enterprise services, including cross-departmental and/or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing projects. S/he will select, develop, and evaluate personnel necessary to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the CO. S/he will oversee the CO shared services platform. The shared services platform includes human resources, procurement, contracts management services (CMS), finance, enterprise services (facilities, travels/logistics, storage/warehousing, communication, utilities, etc.), administration, information technology (IT), security and compliance. S/he will coordinate with all projects operational in Nigeria and ensure collaboration with global projects as well as bilateral.  S/he will take the lead in planning for office size and staffing changes and ensure best shared services value to clients and donors. S/he will lead the CO's drives for excellence in internal business processes, financial performance, technical performance, innovation, learning and growth. Strong candidates will have experience in leadership and management of international NGOs. Experience will include managing diverse staff, including expatriates, multiple in-country locations, and demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a large team. Good understanding of the local contexts associated with various parts of Nigeria as well as good relationships with high-level officials in the Nigerian government, the private sector, and the international donor community in Nigeria.

Education:

• Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent • Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.

Experience:

• Typically requires a minimum of 12 years with project management experience. 

• Demonstrated experience in sector specific multi-sector project management and implementation. 

• Demonstrated strategic planning, staff development and capacity building experience. 

• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national/international in scope. 

• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language(s) preferred. 

• Experience operating in challenging environments. 

• Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
