In this role you'll be part of a supportive team that truly cares about you and your development. Using a patient-centered approach and evidenced based practice, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and co-ordinate care from admission to discharge. Previous experience in End-of -Life or palliative care, as well as previous experience in managing a team is required. As a Senior Nurse, you'll have the freedom to work autonomously, you'll be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, and managing a team of health care assistants and registered nurses. You will also contribute and manage project work across the region, to help address ways to grow the service and respond to the needs of those we support Relationship building in this role is also key, with the ability to establish and engage various stakeholders throughout the business as well as lead a team through positive change. Using the philosophy of Making Every Contact Count (MECC), strengths based and person-centred care, provide coordination, support, and delivery of the type 2 diabetes education programmes, and contribute to the assessment process as required. The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth and we have been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have 3 main theatres - 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35-bedded ward with one 4 bedded bay and one 2 bedded bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms with a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service.

We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. We recently were rated in the top 50 hospitals in the country for our total hip replacement patient outcomes.

Utilise leadership skills ensuring that the Paediatric Emergency Department runs safely and efficiently to deliver high quality care. Assist and support the Matron in the safe, effective management of the area including management of personnel, facilities and the associated systems and processes. To be responsible for the management of the department, effectively leading, motivating, supervising and directing staff to ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork. To ensure that staff have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities and of the standards of performance and conduct expected of them throughout the 24hour period. To work with the ED Matron to ensure that an appropriate managerial and professional infrastructure is in place to support the delivery of services and functional requirements within their ward/ department which are in line with corporate and departmental objectives. To take responsibility for proactively developing, implementing, and reviewing clinical practices to ensure that they are cost effective. To contribute to annual staffing establishment and skill mix reviews, encouraging and promoting new ways of working which support and contribute towards departmental and corporate objectives/ improvement programmes. To work with all members of the multi professional team to develop services that meet organisational and contractual requirements and to ensure the effective provision of all aspects of clinical care are maintained at a high standard. To contribute and influence the total patient experience and journey through collaborative working and effective communications with all members of the multi-disciplinary team throughout the hospital. Assist in the formulation, and review of clinical policies and procedures. To take responsibility for implementing trust wide agreed polices within area of responsibility. To be a point of contact by ensuring that they are a visible, accessible and assertive figure to whom patients, relatives and staff can turn for assistance, advice and support. To assist PALS staff in helping to resolve the concerns of patients and their families as quickly as possible. To have deputy responsibility for the clinical environment, interfacing with relevant staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness, tidiness and dcor are maintained. To establish and maintain positive links with external agencies in particular Social Services, Police and Safeguarding services. To lead, support, supervise and instruct the team through the process of change, demonstrating tenacity, drive professional integrity, balance, and perspective. To contribute towards the development, production and implementation of the departments strategic objectives and business plan, in line with agreed service and financial objectives

As a Scrub Nurse or Theatre Practitioner (ODP) at our Exeter Hospital, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including NMC or HPC. You bring a passion for high standards, a meticulous eye for detail and post-registration experience. You're a focused, flexible and motivated team worker.

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital
The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
