Senior Practitioner - Forensic Mental Health

We are looking for an experienced and committed Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our regional forensic social work team at Caswell Clinic. This role will involve deputising for the Social Work Manager and supporting the wider Social Work Team. You will be required to work to social work standards specific to secure services and manage your performance within the legal framework of this area of mental health practice.
You will work with an established multi agency clinical team across the health boards and local authorities in South Wales. Work will include supporting vulnerable individuals in an inpatient setting and in the community. You will be part of the social work team in Caswell Clinic which allows areas of specific interest to be developed and you will have access to specialist training as well as opportunities to deliver training to a wider cohort.
You will hold a complex caseload of individuals who may present with complex trauma, attachment disorder, severe distress, emotional dysregulation and who may challenge care givers. You will be a resilient and boundaries individual, able to work in a challenging environment. You will need to have effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing representing the needs of the patients with integrity and sensitivity to the needs of the service.
The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in Social Work and significant post qualification in mental health practice.
