ELFT has long been recognised as a centre of excellence for mental and health care, innovation and improvement. So it is a very exciting time for you to come and work for us. Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
Feedback received about the current IST team:
After a YP with complex needs and well known to mental and social services deteriorated significantly, IST offered a prompt, efficient response to YP and her family, both over the phone and, soon afterwards, via an urgent visit. In addition, both before and after seeing the YP and family they liaised with the network at all times --- a great example of team-work and person-centred care!
Thank you for all of the support you have provided for my daughter, I really didn't think that this package would work but it has been completely different this time round and as a result my daughter has not ended up in hospital. Thank you all.
X from IST a is very responsive and good communicator with our team. We have valued X’s support and input in supporting some very vulnerable young people.
The CAMHS Intensive Support Team (IST) across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes has an opportunity for experienced Mental Health professionals to join our team as a CAMHS Senior IST Practitioner (Occupational Therapist).
From January 2020 until June 2021 Bedfordshire CAMHS completed a successful pilot, in collaboration with Central Bedfordshire Children’s Services, called the Intensive Support Team.
This was part of the transforming care programme, working assertively to keep young people with learning disabilities and/or Autism closer to home without the need for inpatient units and / or from becoming a Looked After Child. Following the successful pilot, funding was secured to set up a substantive IST across the ICS in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) in February 2021.
This is an exciting post which will appeal to colleagues committed to improving the mental health of children and young people. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent communication skills and experience of working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
We place immense value on the contribution of our clinicians and as such are committed to the development of a strong governance structure which offers high quality training, supervisions and career development opportunities.
