The Laboratory Medicine department has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The post holder will be working within Haematology, Clinical Biochemistry and Specimen Reception. The post holder will contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients within the hospital by providing technical, scientific and data entry assistance to the Biomedical Scientists and other Departmental staff. The post holder will take part in the shift rota which which includes weekend and night shifts.

The working pattern in this role is rota based. Therefore your contracted hours of 37.5 per week (full time working equivalent) will be calculated across a rota period of 13 weeks in accordance with agenda for change. Dependant on the needs of the service, your total working hours will fluctuate due to the different length of time of the shifts, however as part of rota management your shifts will balance to be within your contracted time.

The post holder will be part of a team providing a diagnostic Blood Sciences service to the Trust. The team comprises Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA), Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, Clinical Scientists, Healthcare Scientists, clerical staff and Medical staff. Demonstrate clinical competencies to undertake minor dressings as specified in a patients care plan completed by a registered nurse. Obtain prompt assistance during an emergency as requested or using the agreed practice i.e.: emergency call bell. Assist patients of all genders with all aspects of personal care. Daily assist and support patients of all genders when mobilising, repositioning in bed or chair whilst promoting patient independence using aids as appropriate. Recognise and understand the importance of adequate nutrition and hydration of the patients by serving food and drinks and assisting patients with feeding and drinking when necessary. Recognise and maintain any specific dietary instructions associated with individual patients. Recognise where a patient may display problems with swallowing and require further assessment and report this to a registered nurse. Pharmacy Retail Stock Count Assistant

Salary: £12.89 per hour inclusive of holiday pay (£11.50 per hour + £1.39 holiday pay)

We are currently looking for a motivated, professional, and flexible individual able to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday day shifts, within a small stock count team, counting our Pharmacy Clients.

This role will be based in the Oxford area with the flexibility to travel around surrounding areas. You must be able to drive.

In this role, you are required to accurately count stock for Retail & Asset Solutions in various high street Pharmacies, this role is extremely important to ensure pharmacies are fully stocked with the medication required for local Doctors and Hospitals.

Please note all training is provided upon your first shift.

Previous stock, audit or retail experience is advantageous but not essential.

Some sites are in warehouses or large retail premises where you may be required to access and work with ground and high level stock, therefore you will be bending and stretching to reach stock throughout your shift and at times may possibly be outdoors.

This role will involve working unsociable hours, working early mornings or night shifts, this therefore means we are unable to hire anyone under the age of 18 years.
