We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time band 5 Sexual Health Nurse to join our team in our level 3 ALL EAST sexual health service, providing integrated sexual health. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic nurse who wish to pursue an exciting career in sexual and reproductive healthcare.

The post will be primarily based at the Ambrose King Centre at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.

Main duties of the job

The Sexual Health Nurse post will provide training to enable the successful candidate to provide care for patients with sexual health and contraceptive needs, delivering treatments and vaccinations that have been prescribed or through the use of Patient Group Directions (PGDs). This will include the provision of HIV Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and subdermal implant contraception. Training will also be provided in microscopy.

The post holder will also provide chaperoning, support and assistance for patients undergoing examination, treatments and procedures by Doctors and Nurse practitioners.

The Sexual Health Nurse post will provide training, enabling the Nurse to provide care for patients with sexual health and contraceptive needs, delivering treatments and vaccinations that have been prescribed or through the use of Patient Group Directions (PGDs). The post holder will also undertake shift coordination and provide chaperoning, support and assistance for patients undergoing examination, treatments and procedures by Doctors and Nurse practitioners.

Haringey CAMHS are looking to recruit CWPs to continue to improve children and young people’s mental health services in Haringey. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the Children and Young People’s Psychological Trainings (CYP-PT) programme.

This is a training position post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service for Haringey CAMHS. They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2025 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.

Clinical Practice 1. Contribute to the provision of individualised pain management by providing assessment, planning, evaluation, and support for patients with complex health-care needs. 2. Manage, with support, your own patient caseload, working collaboratively with the Pain Team to ensure your patients have a pain management plan which is accurately documented in thepatients medical records. Follow-up your patients as clinically indicated. 3. Provide pain management advice, collaborating and negotiating with other healthcare professionals to improve pain management for patients. 4. Educate clinical staff in the principles of effective pain management. Train and support clinical staff in the safe and effective use of advanced pain management techniques including patient controlled analgesia, epidural infusions and regional infusions. 5. Act as a role model for clinical staff within the Trust and externally. Be visible and approachable in clinical areas. 6. Actively contribute to multi-professional approaches to pain management for patients referred to the pain service. 7. Communicate clearly with patients and their carers, keeping in mind the sensitive and complex nature of their pain management needs. 8. Utilise good communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), other staff, departments, and outside organisations. 9. Contribute to the development of pain service policies, ensuring that they reflect current evidence-based practice. Participate in the validation and implementation of pain service guidelines and policies. 10. Participate in the development of strategies to enhance the standard of pain management within the Trust, whilst ensuring equity of access to the service. 11. Participate in the provision of nurse-led outpatient pain clinics and interventions. 12. Actively seek feedback from service users to evaluate their experience of the current service and make suggestions for service improvement. 13.
