The GIM department is fully committed to the education and ongoing learning of our junior medical workforce. Below is a list of what is currently offered within the team: Tuesday afternoon teaching sessions where case base learning and problem-solving strategy is discussed with all members of the junior and senior medical team. Preparatory teaching for MRCP-PACES exam. PDT (personal development time) given. 2 hours per week based around working core rota and is dependent on staffing levels at that time. Opportunities to take part in Clinical governance meetings as well as clinical audits and quality improvement plans. If interested, senior clinicians can give guidance on research writing a paper, publishing and presenting at national/international conferences.
