SUMMARY

This position will work as part of Corewell Health’s health equity evaluation, assessment, and analytics team assisting with programming in SAS and/or R and utilizing other departmental tools, such as Tableau, to analyze data pertaining to the evaluation and monitoring of programs and services provided by Corewell Health’s three regional health equity and community health teams. The emphasis of this role will be on helping to support evaluation and analytics practice that advances Corewell Health's health equity mission.
QUALITICATIONS
o Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education and experience required) in statistics, applied mathematics, or related field, and pursuing a Master’s Degree in biostatistics
o Proficiency in SAS and Excel required. R experience preferred.
o Strong problem solving and analytical ability
o Excellent written, communication, time management, organization, and interpersonal skills
o Self-motivated with the ability to make quality, independent decisions
o Maintains the strictest levels of patient confidentiality
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position will work closely with the data scientists, analysts, and evaluators that are a part of the health equity evaluation, assessment, and analytics team to define the data management and analysis requirements of assigned programs. They will use SAS and/or R to compile data from diverse data resources, including the Corewell Health Enterprise Data Warehouse, associated DataMarts, and from direct data entry. They will extract data using query functionality and prepare the resulting data for analysis using appropriate data transformations.
This position will frequently perform data analyses using SAS and/or R and use these systems to generate reports from databases and specialized queries. They will continually assess data to determine its accuracy and precision and develop procedures for error detection and correction. They will help develop programs that facilitate the tracking of data longitudinally and assist in creating data dictionaries as appropriate to best practices standards. They will occasionally handle the manipulation of data output to develop unique reports to meet special requests.
This position will be expected to communicate, collaborate, and act as a team player in order to ensure continuity and coordination in evaluation services. They will assist in fostering open and direct communication and facilitating group processes with others in the department.
This position will be required to perform the above functions and other activities which contribute to the efficiency of the department, including ensuring that processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. They will engage in process and quality improvement activities, making and implementing recommendations to improve operational efficiency and to implement new services for areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent Currently enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in area of accountability. May also be a recent graduate from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.
- Pursing degree in: Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Health, or Social Work preferre
