• To support the transition of patients from acute services to the community and provide community assessments for people in the home first pathway.
• The post holder will work in partnership with colleagues in the acute sector, social services, intermediate and primary care services to ensure that appropriate patients from the acute setting are transferred in a safe, timely and seamless manner into the community.

We are looking for a Locum Healthcare Assistant to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Dishforth Medical Centre, in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

This is a full-time locum role (37 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

Job Description – Service Requirements
• To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing basic ward-based nursing care within a Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) bedded down facility, to the Defence Medical Services (DMS) entitled Population at Risk (PAR)
• To provide general basic nursing care under supervision and direction of the Lead Practice Nurse, undertaking tasks and duties delegated by a suitably qualified and registered healthcare professional.
• To provide medical administrative support as required.
• To assist the Medical Officer’s (MOs) and practice nurse teams within Primary Health Care clinics, Occupational Health assessment clinics, chronic disease clinics and with health promotion.

We have a busy 6 weeks from the start of January 2025 (schedules of work to be given in December) and are looking for key people in your location. Paid training days will take place in December and paid before Christmas.

Work throughout 2025 on a project-by-project basis.

Role and Responsibilities


Visiting retailers and updating the stand
Moving parts around and resequencing stock according to a new planogram
Changing over the visuals
Maintaining the stand, keeping it looking fresh for customers that visit the store
Travelling to your depot* for kit collection, which is paid time.


What will I get in return?


Training: Provided in full and you are paid – This will be in December and paid before Christmas
Work: Assignment basis, under own supervision



Travel: Regionally, 50 to 80 miles of your home
Location: Field Based – working in various high street retailers
Hours: 8 hr days
Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour plus expenses (fuel/parking etc.)
Equipment: Uniform, Company van (for business use only), and PPE are all provided where applicable
Flexibility: Work when you are available on a variety of projects
