About the College/Department

The School of Psychology was established in 2020 and is situated within the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. The School is home to our two Discipline areas of Psychological and Behavioural Sciences (PBS) and Professional Psychological Practice (PPP). About the Role

We are excited to be able to advertise this role for a senior academic in health psychology with considerable experience in higher education. You will contribute to the academic leadership and delivery of our MSc Health Psychology programmes and to the research profile of the School of Psychology, including applied health psychology research.

As we grow our health psychology provision, this role will include oversight, leadership and development of our campus and online programmes, working with the Head of Discipline, senior academics and the wider teaching team to ensure continuation of excellent student experience and outcomes.

The role will include leading and supporting our marketing events (e.g., open days) which occasionally take place into evenings and at weekends.

The School of Psychology has an active research agenda, and you will be expected to engage with and support financially sustainable research and/or other appropriate academic activity.

There will be opportunity for working from home as agreed with the Head of Discipline. We do support hybrid working as business needs permit. There is currently no requirement for line management in this role. We are advertising this as a full-time position but would be happy to consider candidates who would prefer part time.

About You

To be successful in this role you should have experience of curriculum development and design, and significant teaching experience in health psychology. You should already hold FHEA and may hold SFHEA (or be willing to work towards this). You should have a track record of high quality and impactful research and be able to demonstrate engagement with industry in the development of research. You should also be able to demonstrate a track record in securing external funding. Excellence in communication, team and collaborative working are essential, both internally and externally.

Being a HCPC registered (or eligible) Practitioner Psychologist (health domain) is desirable for this role but not essential.

We are looking for an experienced Nurse Associate, who acts within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of healthcare professionals, GPs, and a non-clinical team in general practice. In this role they will be supported by a GP and Manager who will develop, manage, and mentor them. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient facing role. The post holder will take responsibility for areas of chronic disease management within the PCN. The post holder will provide primary support to general practice staff and carry out Chronic Disease Management annual reviews delegated by a supervising clinician or senior colleague. The post holder will provide clinical leadership on medicines optimisation and quality improvement and manage some aspects of the quality and outcomes framework and enhanced services. The post holder will ensure that the practice integrates within the community to help utilise skill mix, improve patient outcomes, ensure better access to healthcare and help manage workload. The role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies so requires motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within general practice. The post holder will be required to monitor and support the lead nurse with the management of patients with long-term conditions/chronic diseases, using a holistic patient centred approach. You will also be required to take vital signs and observations and identify signs of improvement, report any deteriorations or concerns, e.g. pulse, blood pressure, respirations, oxygen saturations, peak flow, blood glucose levels, ECG, assessing nutrition and hydration and undertake pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs and undertake wound care. The post holder will be required to administer medications as prescribed by the GP/Pharmacy and in accordance with NMC standards, e.g. via nebuliser or injections using sub-cutaneous or intramuscular route under Patient Specific Directions. Pharmacy Technician - Job Description Responsible to: This role is directly employed by the North West Leicestershire GP Federation and the post holder will work for the North West Leicestershire PCN. Job Summary The post holder is a Pharmacy Technician, who acts within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of pharmacists and technicians in General Practice. In this role they will be supported by a Senior Clinical Pharmacist who will develop, manage and mentor them. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient facing role. The purpose of the role is to lead improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care. You will help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes in general practices, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines. The post holder will provide support to general practice staff with regards to prescription and medication queries. Carry out medicines switches in GP practices in line with practice and CCG agreed specific protocols reviewing patients records; amending records and informing patients. They will help support the repeat prescriptions system promoting electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering. Carry out housekeeping whilst in patient records e.g., dose optimisation and medicines synchronisation. The post holder will be the first port of call to answer and deal with any medicines related queries from administration and reception staff plus any medicines related queries from dispensary staff. The aim of which is to improve the quality of care for our patients and operational efficiencies within the PCN, so requires motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within General Practice.
