About the role As a Team Manager, you will Manage the Whitehaven Safe Haven/ Crisis Support Team, including providing day to day support and leadership to the Team, managing the resources, support networks and public relations within and relating to the service. Provide signposting and guidance, as well as support where appropriate to the person to access services and resources they need. The amount and intensity of this support will vary depending on the persons needs, mental health and life circumstances to ensure they are supported during their recovery.
Develop knowledge of the local care pathways and local community knowledge (including cultural sensitivities) to meet service users need and support the individual journey.
Support people to develop lasting, independent peer-support networks beyond the Service to enable them to maintain their recovery.

• Acting as the regional specialist in relation to Health and Safety regulations, policy, systems, processes, training, and resources, fulfilling the role of a competent person.
• Supporting staff to continue building a positive Health & Safety culture, proactive health and safety management, risk assessment and training.
• Facilitating regional health & safety management and practices including raising awareness and working with staff and senior managers to reduce the Trust’s exposure to all safety risks. Advising managers to ensure a safe and secure environment is provided for all staff, patients, and visitors.
• Provide expert advice, support, training, and leadership on all aspects of health and safety.
• Contribute to the department annual work plan.
• Submit regional health and safety reports to the Trust health and safety committee.
• Work with colleagues to ensure that health and safety data is triangulated with other measures to identify trends and highlight areas of concern.
• Undertake Health and Safety Audits.
• Ensure that robust systems are in place for the identification, management, investigation and learning from health and safety incidents.
• Ensure that actions are identified and undertaken to reduce the risk of health and safety related incidents occurring and to improve outcomes in relation to staff, patient, and visitor safety.
• Report RIDDOR incidents to the Health and Safety Executive.

The post holder’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the Trust meets its legal obligations under Health and Safety legislation by developing, implementing, and reviewing the trust health and safety management system, policies, and procedures.

You will need to be a registered Paramedic or Nurse (Adult) with significant experience of clinical practice and qualifications and evidence relevant to specialist practice in the field of primary care and urgent & emergency care. You will have operated in an autonomous capacity within a primary and urgent care setting, including having responsibility for the assessment and treatment of on the day patients within primary care, such as working within a Duty Team, working within an Urgent Treatment Centre with a wide range of injury but more commonly illness exposure or an Emergency Department in which your scope of practice involves autonomous care with discharge rights for a wide range of urgent care presentations. You will have sound assessment and decision-making skills, the ability to plan and prioritise clinical workloads and ability to negotiate appropriate treatment and referral strategies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are also prerequisites for this role.
