The AWP pharmacy service employs approximately 60 staff. There are two technician-led dispensaries in the Trust (one in Bristol, and one in Calne, Wiltshire), and clinical pharmacy teams embedded in the locality ward/community team bases. To deliver elements of the 0-19 Service specification under the supervision of the 0-19 Team, using evidence based tools and implementing intervention programmes/packages of care with children and families which have been planned by the Health Visitors/School Nurses following an assessment of need. To follow the agreed plan set by the Health Visitor/School Nurse in agreement with the parent/carer for interventions and support to children and families where there are identified additional needs, vulnerabilities and or/safeguarding issues. To work in partnership with the local community Early Years (Best Start), Childrens Centres, Multi Agency Support Team (MAST) and other agencies/partners in order to assess, identify and meet the public health needs of the children and families within the community.
