The Clinical Haematology service runs one of the largest blood and marrow transplant programmes (allogeneic and autologous) in Europe, successfully achieving and maintaining JACIE accreditation status, while operating as specialist tertiary centre. We are a large unit with a total of 58 inpatient beds across three wards that include designated haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) beds. Our Apheresis service is currently located within day care and will be moving to upgraded facilities next year. We take pride in the fact that we provide a full programme of specialist Apheresis services 24/7 with on-call provision that extends to Critical Care and an outreach TPE Neurology service.
• Therapeutic apheresis is a highly specialist technology that provides a comprehensive range of treatment modalities that can involve the separation, removal and replacement of blood components and constituents. More recently, there has been an expansion in the application of advanced therapeutic medicinal products (ATMPS) for which apheresis plays a vital role in the collection of cellular products, enabling a wider range of diseases to be treated.
• Another area of growth in apheresis procedures has been that of automated red cell exchanges (RCE), which has become the NICE approved gold standard treatment for patients with sickle cell disease for which ICHNT operates as the haemoglobinopathy coordinating centre (HCC) for West London , providing an important therapeutic RCE programme with provision expected to grow across the North West London network.
• This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated haematology nurse who is keen to develop specialist Apheresis skills across a wide range of procedures, to increase awareness of regulatory requirements/standards, to further develop vascular access skills and to participate in research/clinical trials, as Apheresis services are shaped for the future.

We have an active and growing paediatric research unit based within a new, dedicated and purpose-built Children’s Clinical Research Facility (CCRF), which opened in 2018. We employ over 18 research nurses and clinical research practitioners with a portfolio of over 20 research studies currently in the delivery stage. Over recent years, the department has seen a significant expansion of clinical research.

We currently have an opportunity to provide maternity leave cover for one of our existing research nurses. The post will suit an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual to join us as a Paediatric Clinical Research Nurse, on the CCRF at St Mary’s Hospital. Hours will be full time (37.3hrs) and the post will be funded for 12 months in the first instance. The successful applicant will join a first class team delivering ongoing, ground-breaking paediatric research studies, particularly in the field of children's allergy.

This role involves working closely with medical and nursing staff along with research participants and their families. Central to the role is the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients participating in our allergy clinical research studies. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken within the department safeguards the well-being of the patients, and is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research.

This position provides the post-holder with the opportunity to work with a very supportive and welcoming team and to further develop your existing knowledge and skills. Prior experience of working in allergy is essential for this role and experience of research within an NHS setting is highly desirable.

There is an exciting opportunity for a medical fellow to work within the department of Oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Initially it is a 6 month fixed term contract starting November 2024. This post will form part of the Medical oncology post graduate training rotation and provide great learning opportunities in a supportive environment. The role would ideally suit both trainees wishing to pursue a career in oncology, post MRCP part II, but not yet in a training role or those who have finished their oncology training and looking to develop their breast cancer experience. It may also suit potential Portfolio Programme (ex-CESR) trainees, but only with GMC registration and able to work immediately in the UK. The post allows considerable flexibility for the doctors to choose their area of research or education, to develop their CV’s or clinical experience.

The successful candidate would gain experience of outpatient clinics, systemic anticancer treatments and acute oncology inpatient services as part of a ward and on-call rota. They would be able to contribute on-call rota within the oncology team, but it is non-essential. The fellow would have the opportunity to develop the role according to their educational needs and interests either through research, delivery of education or management/leadership skills development.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated doctors to join our team in the Paediatric Emergency Department at St Mary’s Hospital. This job is ideal for trainees who wish to gain confidence and competencies in the assessment and management of acutely ill and injured children, and who are considering training in paediatrics or emergency medicine.

St Mary’s Hospital is a busy Major Trauma Centre in London, and has a range of paediatric medical and surgical specialities, including PID, Haematology, Neurology, Allergy, Renal and PICU. It is one of the key trusts in the North London Paediatric Specialist Network, and an internationally respected academic and research unit. The department is staffed by dedicated paediatric nurses and led by a team of PEM consultants. Trainees come from both paediatric and emergency medicine backgrounds on a 2-tier rota.

We are looking for dedicated doctors who have completed their foundation training, and have a real interest in Paediatrics or Emergency Medicine. Experience in Paediatrics or Emergency Medicine is desirable, although we will consider suitable candidates without.

Candidates must have had at least 1 year experience of paid working in the NHS in the UK (“observer ships” do not count).

The post will have some protected time to participate in Quality Improvement or Educational projects, and we have consultants with key interests in Research, Simulation and Quality Improvement.

Doctors, under the supervision of the consultant and senior trainees, will see all varieties of presentations (medical and trauma), to gain experience in all aspects of emergency care in children. We are supported by the inpatient paediatric team, as well as the paediatric and surgical specialties.

The urology service at Imperial is pleased to be able to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for an advanced nurse practitioners (ANP) in Endourology at Charing Cross Hospital. The successful candidates will work very closely with the urology multi-disciplinary team and undertake activities for the service.

You will be an experienced band 7/8a practitioner, acting within your professional boundaries. You will develop the skills to independently undertake flexible cystoscopies and lithotripsy provision. Imperial healthcare (Hammersmith Hospital Site) are seeking experienced Band 6/7 nurse to work within our expanding inherited cardiac conditions department. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday 9 -5, with occasional cross cover at St Marys site.

Providing specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients with inherited cardiac condition (ICC).

The successful candidate will have some knowledge and an interest of managing patients with or at risk of ICC, as well as working to identify and support at-risk family members and facilitate family screening. Early clinical review and will ensure individuals are cared for in the most appropriate setting utilising their clinical expertise, leadership, management and educational skills to ensure seamless care from diagnosis to end of life, training provided.

The post holder will provide long-term support to patients with inherited cardiac conditions and their families from the time of referral and throughout the care pathway.

• Providing specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients with inherited cardiac condition (ICC).
• They will have specialist knowledge and experience of managing patients with or at risk of ICC, as well as working to identify and support at-risk family members. The post holder will facilitate family screening, early clinical review and will ensure individuals are cared for in the most appropriate setting utilising their clinical expertise, leadership, management and education skills to ensure seamless care from diagnosis to end of life.
