Three Bridges is a female only service for four ladies who require a wide range of support from emotional support, learning new coping mechanisms and finding their way into Adulthood.
The role is about supporting people to lead a Gloriously ordinary life full of opportunity, fun and helping people to reach their goals and aspirations. The role can be tough, but the rewards outweigh for example one individual has spent 26 years in a hospital setting but now has lived in the service independently for 2 years. One person has a paid job and two people go to college. The ladies especially like days out such as Brighton on the bus, clubbing, karaoke, eating out and planning events.
You will need to be adaptable, flexible, mature and be able to support our people to gain back their independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking and out of the box thinking. It's important to note that some of young people may self-harm, have anxiety or on occasion show behaviours of concern.
At present all the people we support have several hours of 1:1 support during the day as well as some shared support day and night. The ideal people will have a passion for working with people with enduring mental health, a keen interest in the psychology behind complex behaviours that challenge and the willingness to learn and practice Positive Behaviour Support
Active Prospects is recruiting for Day and Night Support Worker(s) to join our complex care service in Crawley, West Sussex.
Three Bridges Road is close to public transport, with a short walk from the bus stop/train station to the service. Drivers are always welcome – there is free onsite parking available.
