OverviewWorks under the supervision of Nurse Manager in personal care, comfort measures and environmental services of the patients (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure.
What you will do- Provides personal care, comfort measures, environmental services, and specified treatments for a specified number of patients as determined by department standards. Follows the plan of care that assures patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care, within legal standards of practice, while maintaining privacy and support for the patient’s value system. Provides care consistent with both verbal and/or written instructions. Demonstrates competent understanding of assigned plans of care within appropriate scope of practice and responsibilities as directed by the RN/LPN to include accurately completing all required documentation.
- Ensures availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes. Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment, stocking supplies, and placing equipment in proper storage areas.
- Assists and participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students.
QualificationsEducation- Program Graduate, Nurse Aide Training Program approved by VA Board of Nursing (Required) or
- Program Graduate, Medical Assistant/Certified Nurse Aide/EMT-B (Required) or
- Program Graduate, Virginia DMAS Approved PCA Training Program (Required)
Experience- Prior work experience in a home care setting (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
- Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
- Valid Drivers License Required
