Your role

As our Security & Safety Manager you work alongside and deputise for our Security Director to ensure the safety and security of all guest, personnel and property. Working as part of a larger security team you will demonstrate a flexible and adaptive hands-on approach in order to lead, guide and continuously train a team of Duty Security Officers & our Nightlife Security Officers to ensure that all of our front and back of house areas across the hotel and our venues are safeguarded against fire, theft or other safety hazards.

You respond with a sense of urgency to any and all emergency situations in a calm and professional manor. Your team will undertake a range of security patrols around the premises and be required to deal with various safety incidents involving guests, contractors or staff and act as liaisons with local law-enforcement, food safety and fire department agencies. Our nightlife security team provide door coverage across our 6 venues, including our bars and restaurants, rootop and late night club lounge, so experience of managing a busy late night venue is a must.

A key element of your role is Health & Safety, so you will need to be well versed in all relevant fire, liscening and Health & safety legislation. You will be passionate about delivering a quality Security service with a meticulous eye for detail, maintaining your team's standards through coaching and training in order to achieve the highest levels of service and presentation.

Above all, you become part of a professional and highly trained Safety & Security team that is anything but standard and ensures safety is at the forefront of everybody's minds!

Do you have what it takes to be a Security & Safety Manager at The Standard

Prior experience with a minimum of 2 years prior experience as a Security Manager & Supervisor is essential for this role; in addition to this you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests and team members.

Your role

As a Night Chef at The Standard, you will become part of an exceptional culinary and kitchen team that provide an extensive food service across our bars, restaurants, in room dining and event spaces. As a Night Chef you will oversee and be directly responsible for the provision of our Night Menu for guests wishing to dine in their rooms between 10pm and 7am which we are now reintroducing to hotel. In addition to overseeing our night service, you will also undertake mise-en-place for the breakfast team and support them with our early breakfast service.

This is a stand-alone position overnight so you will need to be incredibly organised and confident working by yourself. You will of course be passionate about cooking, with an exceptional working knowledge of kitchen operations and order of service; along with a deep appreciation of quality food and proven knowledge of production and cooking techniques

Do you have what it takes to be a Night Chef at The Standard, London

While prior experience as a Night Chef is always useful, your individuality is your most important asset. While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People' are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging. With this in mind you will need to be upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high volume, high energy environment and can manage multiple tasks with ease.

* Prior experience as a Night Chef or Chef De Partie, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle' boutique hotel, destination fine dining restaurant or perhaps even a well know quality chain

* Happy to work alone overnight between 10pm and 7am.

* Be a confident in Kitchen operations and the order of service

* Highly motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions

* A relevant culinary qualification to a minimum of level 2 professional cookery and food hygiene certificate is required for these roles

FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT
£25,285 per annum plus £1,000 retention bonus
An opportunity to join our friendly Catering Front-of-House team who prepare and serve a range of high-quality food, including fine dining, to the college community and commercial guests. You will receive full training and will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills from the rest of the team.
Hours worked include a mix of shifts over a seven-day rota basis - usually between the hours of 7.00 am and 9.30 pm (but this is subject to change, depending on the needs of business), working 37.5 hours per week.
Staff are expected to take some of their holidays during the Christmas closure, which extends into the New Year.
The ideal candidate will have:

experience of Front of House in the hotel industry or hospitality and gained within a customer facing role
the ability to work with, and cover for, other members of the staff team
excellent customer service skills
clear communication skills
a Certificate in Food Hygiene and a good understanding of Food Safety and relevant Health & Safety legislation are desirable.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week). The salary for the role is £25,285 (Step 29 on College scale).

Your role

As a HR & Finance Assistant at the Standard London you will support both the wider HR & Finance teams undertaking a range of administration duties.

Within HR you will support our HR team in providing an end-to-end HR service to all managers and employees; this will include general HR administration, maintaining Fourth our HR & payroll system, Mapal One our LMS (Learning Management system) and Peoplebank ATS. Within the HR Office you will be a first point of contact for our employees, dealing with general enquiries and questions. You will also oversee various employee engagement events such as our summer and winter parties and get involved in other monthly social activities across the hotel.

Within the Finance team you will support a range of accounting duties which may include; overseeing transactions and payments relating to our accounts' payable ledger, income audit, logging invoices and cashiering. You will also undertake a number of duties to support month end.

This is not a ‘Standard' HR & Finance Assistant position so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.

Your role

As a Host for our ground floor restaurants and bars you will become part of an exceptional team and a key element to our guests' experience.

You'll be our guests' all important first and last point of contact meeting them on arrival and escorting them to their tables, on hand to deal with their queries, provide information and oversee table plans. As a host to our guests, you will add a touch of personality and theatre to their experience, making our guests feel welcome whilst they visit The Standard and our energetic and vibrant city. The Standard, London opened in July 2019 and has boldly propelled The Standard brand onto the international stage. Situated on Euston Road across from the gothic grandeur of St Pancras Station, the hotel is set to become a new cultural crossroad for London and a gateway to Europe. The hotel playfully respects the building's history while creating new expansive spaces for the neighbourhood to play from our bars, restaurants, lounges and event spaces throughout the building.

The Standard, London has 266 rooms in 42 unique styles ranging from Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking St Pancras station. The lobby lounge, with a carefully curated library pays homage to the building's original use, with a Sounds studio hosting weekly live music and talks. Executive Chef Adam Rawson's street facing bar, Double Standard, offers lunch, happy-hour and casual drinking and dining, while his garden restaurant, Isla, features a seasonally-driven, coastal inspired menu. Your role

As a Delivery Assistant at The Standard, London, you will become part of a specialised purchasing team that provides a dedicated procurement service for the hotel and our collection of our F&B outlets which include high-volume all-day dining, late night lounge, busy cocktail bar and grill, garden and roof terraces, plus our exclusive destination restaurant, Decimo, on our top floor.

You will work closely both the purchasing and back of house managers and be responsible for coordinating orders, receiving delivers and distributing goods on behalf of our departmental teams to ensure that par stock levels are maintained across the business. With a meticulous eye for detail you never miss a thing, ensuring that par stock levels are maintained within the general store and that deliveries are inspected, meet standards and that all food safety controls are managed. You will play a pivotal role in the monthly stocktake and management of our inventory; that is far from anything but Standard!

Most importantly you will adopt a flexible and hands-on approach with superior communication and negotiation skills to manage a host of supplier relationships on behalf of the business.
