Shall be able to weld in CS in related dimensions and schedule for piping.

Willing to learn and can achieve necessary safety or occupational training

Prove of English Level (CEFR) B1 preferably.

Able to pass test of satisfaction of the employer within the appropriate design and safety standards, where to work does not require a test to be passed in accordance with the ISO 9606-1.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Experience in welding Carbon Steel.

· Weld or Tack-weld components and assemblies pressure parts, tubes, pipes, plates, supports vessels or structural works by manual welding.

· Follow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.

· Perform welding in accordance with operation parameters in WPS.

· Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials, and notify supervisors.

· Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

· Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding techniques.

· Awareness and working by following the STAR strategy; Stop, Think, Act and Review

· Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

· Perform visualize inspection during the welding operation

· Advise on any necessary adjustments at the scaffolding to the welding supervisor.

· Shall ensure that a "zero harm" approach is taken in relation to all his acts and omissions in relation to the services and the project. Acknowledges that due to the nature of the project, nuclear safety and security are of paramount importance.

· Agrees to comply with any rule, instruction or requirement of the Company in relation to the services which the company determines, in his sole and absolute discretion, is necessary in order for the company to comply with his obligations under the nuclear site license.

· Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.

In this role you will:

Supervise the front of house operations in your area of responsibility and ensure that excellent customer service is delivered at all times
Ensure that procedures regarding financial control, Health and Safety, Licencing Law, HACCP and staffing are carried out within University guidelines.
Maintain customer care and service standards and have an awareness of product knowledge and merchandising.
Work with the Hospitality management team and undertake training to deliver projects that will develop food & beverage offering, management and customer service.
The successful candidate will have experience of striving for excellent standards of customer service and of providing team members with operational training. You will have significant front of house hospitality supervisory experience and demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and motivate team members whilst on shift. You will have knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and experience in stock management (including stock control, portion control, ordering and controlling wastage). You should also have excellent organisational, communication inter-personal skills, with the ability to remain focussed and efficient in a high-volume environment.

Flexibility is important and the role includes early morning, evening and weekend working on a 5 out of 7 days per week contract (36.5 hours per week).

About your ideal candidate

The successful candidate will have experience of supervising and excellent standards of customer service in a customer focused environment. You will have experience in providing team members with operational training. You will have knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, licensing laws and work well as part of a team. You will need to demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure, as it can be extremely busy over peak periods.

The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.

We have a vacancy for general Porter in in the hospitality department. This role will be supporting the food outlets in the west of campus. As a Kitchen Porter you will be responsible for delivering and receiving stock, maintaining excellent hygiene standards, operating dishwashers and carrying out daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, cutlery and crockery as well as setting up tables and furniture.

The successful candidate should work well within a team and have experience of working in a kitchen porter/general porter role and providing an excellent standard of customer service.

During term time the role is mainly Mon-Fri with occasional weekend requirements. During the summer there is an increased requirement for weekend and late evening shifts to be covered on a 5 out of 7 days per week contract (36.5 hours per week). The weekly shift pattern consists of straight shifts only, no split shifts.

Training and uniform are provided, and there are opportunities to develop in the role and seek promotion into supervisory roles.
