Head Chef
Location: Cambridge

Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to join our established team working with our prestigious clients based in Cambridge.
Joining our team at their large site, you will manage the catering operation on behalf of Sodexo for the client and customers, working as part of a team to ensure high standards of cleaning service, customer satisfaction and contract retention, complying with Sodexo procedures, Health & safety and all legislative requirements.
The Head Chef will organise and lead the preparation & presentation of all meals service at the required times and to the required high standard, ensuring that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements as well as managing menu planning, rotas, orders and receiving, checking and storing deliveries as requested to complete the menu purchase planner and recipe cards for all main meals.
You will be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety and the Environment on work activities to ensure actions comply in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements. Completion to the standards of; Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Vehicle Audit/Inspection and other H&S compliance and safety expected activities, complying with the Company's Quality Assurance and Health & Safety Procedures at all times and ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the industry’s best practices.
About You
Experience and knowledge requirement for this role:
• Previous catering management experience, ideally in a car manufacturing/production establishment
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with customers, clients & staff at all levels
• Ability to achieve & set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
• strong organisational & planning skills with the ability to prioritise and manage their time effectively
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team without close supervision
• Experience of customer service and in particular customer relationship management
• Self-motivated with a sense of own initiative Ability to develop increasing individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
• Good standard of financial acumen with experience of delivering financial targets
• IT & systems literate, use of IT systems to provide/monitor data within the Quality Assurance and other management reporting systems
• Pro-active attitude and flexible in relation to duties and working hours
• Ability to work well under pressure
Qualifications required:
• City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent
• Food Safety Qualification
• NEBOSH HSE Certificate
