Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Monday – Friday, 06:40am – 14:40pm (includes 30 min lunch break)

• Dishwashing - daily dishwashing during service times to ensure crockery & cutlery are replenished.

About the role

Duties of an Asssitant Chef are varied, and no two days will be the same in the home’s busy kitchen. As a general guide you will prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, providing special dietary requirements where necessary for residents. You will assist the Head Chef to plan and cost menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods. You will maintain accurate records and the correct orders of food supplies. You will also check deliveries and ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and the kitchen, dining areas, including equipment, are cleaned to statutory Health and Safety standards.

Job titles can vary – this role is also known as cook, sous chef, head chef, kitchen manager, social care.
