Hospitality position provides “White Glove” customer service and is responsible for taking care of all client meetings and events, and hospitality tasks at a client location.

The purpose of a Distribution Lead is to oversee the daily productivity of the assigned department. This position will be responsible for the daily and/or hourly delegation of tasking associates, pulling and reading reports regarding incoming waves, ensuring the department headcount is sufficient to properly complete the estimated production for the shift, tracking associate performance, and properly communicate any issues to other Leads or Management.

ABOUT THE ROLE

CoStar is seeking a Director of Hospitality Market Analytics to join our growing analytics organization. The selected candidate will be CoStar’s subject matter expert on hospitality trends in the Midwest and the Northeast, with responsibility for providing analytic content (listed below) focused on these regions. The Director will play a key role as a client- and industry-facing representative of CoStar and be responsible for delivering CoStar’s view of the market and the outlook.

The position will be based out of one of CoStar’s office locations in the Midwest or Northeast, to include Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, or Washington, DC, in an optional hybrid work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with the National Director for Hospitality Market Analytics, the Analyst will maintain and deliver frequent in-person market updates to CoStar Market Analytics clients and industry groups, focusing on economic trends and themes within the Northeastern and the Midwestern Hospitality sectors

• Responsible for analyzing market data and drawing insightful conclusions by utilizing all the data available at CoStar and STR to manipulate, aggregate and organize this data to uncover trends, patterns and other insights of interest to the Hospitality industry

• Maintain well-written, timely product market and sub-market reports that includes relevant, insightful, and thought-provoking Hospitality industry commentary

• Produce video updates on key markets, working with CoStar’s video production team, as requested .

• Translate analysis and insights into meaningful presentations and deliver them to the market via webinar or in person

• Speak to the local press about hospitality trends

• Write hospitality-related articles for CoStar News summarizing key trends and performance themes that are of interest to market participants

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

• 12+ years of work experience in Hospitality industry

• 2+ years of experience providing data insights and analysis within the Hospitality industry

• Willingness to travel to the main Northeastern and Midwest markets for in-person presentations to clients

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated writing skills and ability to write effectively in large volumes

• Strong data and analysis skills, including Excel and SQL data manipulation skills. Proven ability to formulate and test hypothesis about trends in the market.

• Hospitality Capital Markets background preferred

• Expert MS Office Skills

• Polished presentation and communication skills.  Comfortable talking and presenting to others, often to large groups of industry practitioners

Job Specific

• Maintains restaurant kitchen staffing levels so as to provide for optimal performance of all duties
• Administers and ensures adherence to departmental guidelines, policies and procedures
• Responsible for smooth, efficient, cost effective operation of restaurant food production activities, to include labor management, inventory control, use of product and adherence to all sanitation requirements
• Supervises/performs kitchen opening and closing operations
• Supervises/assists food handlers in the preparation and production of all hot and cold food items
• Orders raw food ingredients necessary to prepare all items on the menu for area of responsibility
• Ensures that all raw food ingredients are received and stored in the proper manner
• Supervises all aspects of food preparation and production, ensures that standardized recipes, plating and presentation guides, portion control and garnish requirements are adhered to at all times
• Organizes/assists food handlers in the performance of their duties as needed to ensure Loews standards for timely preparation/service of food cooked to order are met
• Monitors all food preparation, production, holding and storage operations to ensure adherence to all Governmental Food Service Sanitation standards
• Performs frequent inspections of all preparation and cooking equipment to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary and in perfect operating order
• Reports all equipment maintenance needs to Engineering
• Interviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental team members according to Loews Hotels standards
• Follows New Hire Training and onboarding program in accordance with hotel policy
• Reviews daily payroll report, controls daily labor costs by reducing staff as business activity diminishes
• Attends required hotel meetings to keep abreast of in-house activities, special promotions and upcoming events, maintain communications with other departments within the hotel
• Communicates daily with department team members to obtain/provide current information regarding daily activities/functions and upcoming events

Qualifications

• One plus years Supervisory experience in quantity food production, in an upscale hotel or freestanding restaurant
• Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food productions techniques
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of kitchen equipment use and operation
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand, lift 35 pounds and push carts weighing up to 200 pounds
