• Verifying and documenting volumes and trace codes on paperwork, promptly notifying the manager of any discrepancies..
• Verifying and maintaining accurate use-by dates for all products.
• Recording trace codes and use-by dates consistently and accurately adding and documenting volumes and trace codes on paperwork
• Streamlining the collection and organization of issue and return sheets for efficient line management.
• Promptly preparing bread and packaging for production lines.

• Responsible for mixing ingredients and raw materials in commercial kettles to create our sauces
• You will need to follow recipes and specifications, as well as ensuring consistency across batches so that our customers receive high quality products on time, every time
• Efficiently carry out any assigned operation or task, meeting all output targets

As Development Chef you will be part of new and exciting transformation project to create new and modify existing recipes in line with written briefs, customer expectations and financial targets to deliver products of repeatable quality.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Develop new and existing recipes, in the development kitchen, in line with the great food agenda, delivering products of consistent quality and taste
• Develop new and existing recipes, in the development kitchen, in line with the great food agenda, delivering products of consistent quality and taste
• Propose new raw material and packaging requirements, working in partnership with the product development team, to brief these out of the NPD buyer so that suppliers receive appropriate feedback on the samples and packaging provides optimum product protection in transit and creates buying appeal
• Where relevant support in presentation of products in feasibility meetings and share details on how products are made and would be produced in the factory
• Ensure accurate recording of recipes and methods, reheat instructions and relevant measures such as pH, viscosities and yields to ensure all products are of repeatable and sustainable quality for NPD handover
• Prepare samples, set up and deliver professional internal and external product panels as required for submissions and benchmarking
• Management and adherence to kitchen workplans, communicating and updating on progress and escalating any issues to line manager ensuring relevant action can be taken to prevent delays to critical path
• Attend factory trial sign off panels to ensure production quality matches the kitchen quality signed off by the customer. Where required for more complex projects, attend trials to support cook sign offs
• Work alongside the Head development chefs and sushi specialist to have creative input into innovation agenda
• Development of products that improves our sustainability position

Food processing operatives work with specialized equipment in food production. They use ingredients from a recipe to make large batches of a food brand’s products, and they also monitor industrial kitchen equipment.

• Monitor food processing machines and make adjustments to the controls for devices such as industrial slicers, mixers, graters, etc.
• Program equipment to operate according to company and specification standards and make changes to weights and thicknesses.
• React to any type of alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and operate the shut-off switch when necessary.
• Load ingredients into the mixing/slicing machines and measure the amount needed by following customer specifications and company standards.
• Comprehend written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products.
• Remove the finished product from the machines and push batches to the next step of the process for production.
• Verify that each finished item meets the quality standards of the company by observing the visual appearance of the product.
• Clean and sanitize all machinery parts at the end of each shift and clean the workspace at the work station by following company hygiene standards

This role is working nights Alternate Saturday to Tuesday 17:00 - 05:00

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop new and existing recipes, in the development kitchen, in line with the great food agenda, delivering products of consistent quality and taste
• Co-create recipes alongside the product development team, considering customer food brand standards, nutritional, shelflife and cost targets considering operational capabilities following the product development procedures, to deliver the recipe to the customer brief
• Propose new raw material and packaging requirements, working in partnership with the product development team, to brief these out of the NPD buyer so that suppliers receive appropriate feedback on the samples and packaging provides optimum product protection in transit and creates buying appeal
• Develop and then input recipes onto the recipe management system to assess the food cost and nutritional information ensuring delivery against the brief
• Demonstrate the assembly of products and explain the production method at feasibility meetings to gain sign off for customer submissions
• Complete organoleptic, cooking and freezer validation tests and support product developers to conduct recipe validation tests for all products following the product development procedures to ensure all products are of repeatable and sustainable quality before NPD to process handover e.g. viscosity, weight, yield tests
• Prepare samples, set up and deliver professional internal and external product panels as required for EPD, NPD or benchmarking, cooking up products were relevant and documenting the findings and action plan for next steps
• Follow the critical path time lines as directed, escalating incomplete tasks and deficiencies in testing, to ensure that mitigating action can be taken to prevent delays in product acceptance and launch
• Attend process scale up trials and provide kitchen samples to ensure production samples match the kitchen quality signed off by the customer
• Work alongside the Head development chefs to have creative input into innovation agenda
