GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under site designate leader, and according to established policies and procedures performs accurate and efficient Mammography exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation. Always follows Beaumont philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs quality Mammography and Breast Imaging Ultrasound exams after verification of patient identification, physician order and correct exam charge in EPIC.
Demonstrates ability to proficiently operate Mammography and Ultrasound imaging equipment. Obtain the highest quality images by using the appropriate techniques for patient positioning for screening, tomography, and diagnostic exams, invasive mammography procedures and breast ultrasound imaging. Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety. Maintains and pursues professional development per ARRT and/or ARMDS requirements. Knowledge with hospital computer site software systems for charging, viewing schedules and PACS for sending information both accurately and efficiently. Provides effective inter/intra-departmental communication and participation with medical staff, management, technical and support staff. Provide procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam. Clean and restock exam rooms, storerooms, and monitor department cleanliness.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Training:
- Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography
Program.
- Successful completion of a certified class for breast imaging ultrasound.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 Years’ experience beyond staff radiographer level preferred.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
- Certification by American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT); Additional Mammography (ARRT)(M) Breast Sonography (ARRT)(BS) certification required within 1 year of hire.
- If registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) and Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Additional Breast certification through (ARRT)(M) and/or (ARDMS)(BR) certification required within 1 year.
