To take a delegated lead on the development of service objectives or projects in liaison with colleagues. To be responsible for the security, care and maintenance of equipment (eg wheelchair scales, hoist scales) ensuring standards of infection control and safety are complied with including equipment loaned to clients and that used for community-based programmes. To be responsible for ordering and maintaining department supplies of nutrition support samples, associated enteral feed equipment and ensure current information is available for their use. To advise Head of Nutrition & Dietetics on issues of service delivery including clinical activity, service pressures versus service capacity.

Job Purpose


Be an active member of theclinical team, providing a comprehensive therapy service to residents of Brent referred into the service.
Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation.

Undertake specialised uni-professional and multi-professional assessments.

To develop and implement treatment plans for clients. These clients will present with primarily neurological conditions, but you may also see musculoskeletal conditions, osteoporosis, learning disability and/or mental health diagnosis.

Participate in the Assessment Process when appropriate, performing overview assessments and complex specialist assessments as appropriate, including the ordering of moving and handling equipment relevant to rehabilitation need.

To communicate relevant medical information, assessment details, advice, and recommendations across agencies and with clients in compliance with Trust Guidelines for sharing of information and informed consent. These agencies include General Practitioner’s, Social Services, Healthcare professionals, voluntary agencies, and residential homes.

Be responsible for gaining valid, informed consent for assessment, treatment interventions and sharing of information in compliance with legal and professional guidelines.
