You will join our established antimicrobial pharmacy team, who, alongside microbiology, sexual health, and OPAT teams, will support you to develop specialistknowledge, and be the pharmacy lead for HIV/sexual health service.
The role provides variety with an emphasis on collaboration. It includes specialistMDTs, ward rounds, audit, research and education, guideline/pathway development, implementation, and evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
You will represent pharmacy at speciality, and regional meetings, and contribute to our ward-based pharmacy service.
While pre-existing knowledge of antimicrobials and NMP qualification are advantageous, we welcome applications from pharmacists able to demonstrate strong transferable skills and an appetite to learn.
Any successful candidate employed at B7 level, will be provided with clear criteria for progression, and the full support of the team to achieve this, including completion of their NMP training.

You will:
• Have a central role in the pharmacy antimicrobial team.
• Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to optimise the use of antimicrobials across the Trust, including outpatients.
• Provide expert clinical advice on antimicrobials, to ensure their safe, effective, and economic use.
• Attend AMS ward rounds and specialist MDTs.
• Lead the pharmacy service to the HIV and sexual health service, and support delivery of the OPAT service as part of a team-based approach.
• Review and optimise current governance processes and clinical pathways.
• Identify, develop, and deliver service improvement activities.
• Develop, disseminate, and maintain prescribing and consumer resources.
• Deliver training and education within pharmacy and across the Trust.
• Deputise for and cross-cover with other members of the pharmacy
antimicrobial team.
• Represent pharmacy in directorate and speciality meetings.
• Represent pharmacy and The Trust in relevant specialist networks.
Ensure pharmacy and medicines management are considered in service development and as part of day-to-day operation.
• Line-manage pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and supervise pharmacy students, trainees, and technicians as part of their rotation within the service.
• Take part in clinical, dispensary, discharge, weekend, and on-call rotass.
