About The Role
As a Finance Assistant at the Coal Authority, you will be part of the Finance team that provides a professional service to all departments. The Finance team plays an important role supporting the organisation to spend wisely and deliver value of money.
This is a varied role which will give you plenty of opportunity to learn about working in a team and will develop your skills and knowledge. To identify and discuss with managers and clinicians areas where savings and efficiencies can be made to enable more effective use of the Trusts resources. To analyse detailed and complex financial statements and forecasts and create reports and presentations that make them readily understandable to non-financial managers. Financial Reporting To ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for the Directorates. To review, interpret and present accounts and reports, ensuring that work meets best practice standards and is used appropriately to support proposals and recommendations for decision-making. To inform senior finance colleagues of the current and forecast position of budgets under the post holders management. Contribute to the timely and accurate completion of the annual accounts Business Case Development Contribute to the results of the Business Development Unit by analysing complex problems relating to business case production. Produce revenue requirements for new build projects, making judgements on financial risk where there is no precedent and where opinions may conflict. Use complex DoH/SHA generic tools in order to model various scenarios and benchmark services. Ad hoc Collective responsibility for leading on current departmental issues which may change over time. Deputise for the Head of Finance when required. Education and Development a) Self To demonstrate continuing professional development, through development of knowledge, skills and keeping up to date with professional practice. b) Non-Financial Manager To ensure all managers in the designated directorates fully understand the financial information presented to them, identifying, and implementing any training needs as necessary.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Band 5 adult Speech and Language Therapy rotation programme. Developed through partnership working between the Adult Speech and Language Therapy services across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS) NHS organisations, these rotations offer our Band 5 SLTs a wide range of experiences and opportunities to develop skills in various settings and with different adult client groups. Joining the rotation programme will help to develop a strong understanding of the patient pathway, a unique and versatile skill set and encourage partnership working and clinical interests.

Each successful candidate will be employed by one of the four core services. You will be working with each service for a 9 month period before moving to your next rotational placement. All roles are permanent and at the end of your rotation you will return to your original place of employment. The four services offering the rotational posts are:

Acute adult acquired disorders inpatient setting (Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust)

Community Intellectual Disabilities Team (Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust)

Adult Acquired disorders community team (Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust)

Rampton High Secure Hospital (Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust)

The main duties of the role vary depending on where you are in your rotation. Your will be focusing on an adult population in acute inpatient, high secure forensic services, and community acquired and ASD/ intellectual disability settings. Although the contexts differ, common duties are:

Assessment and formulation of the individual’s speech, language, communication, and dysphagia needs.
Developing advice & recommendations to enable others to care effectively for the individual.
Producing written advice and recommendation for a variety of audiences and develop inclusive communication documents relevant to your caseload.
Being involved in intervention relevant to your case load and deliver training for others to implement inclusive communication environments and safe and healthy mealtimes.
Working with families and carers in an inclusive manner.
Working collaboratively with your Speech & Language Therapy and multidisciplinary colleagues on supporting the individual.
Represent your clients and your profession in multidisciplinary meetings and be involved in the formulation of the person’s needs.
Supporting your team to facilitate student placement where appropriate.

Allied Health Professionals within Nottinghamshire Health care are at the forefront of a range of multi-disciplinary, specialist services for people with complex needs, using their expertise around promoting recovery, enablement and positive risk taking, to add life to years, prevent relapse and reduce risks.

As a speech and language therapist you will provide preventative information and guidance, work to empower parents, carers, other professionals and agencies to support speech, language and communication skills as well as eating and drinking.

You will provide individual assessment, individual and/or group therapy and management, training, advice and liaison through a consultative and coaching approaches, as appropriate.

You will work as part of the wider multi- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person and family- centred services through tailored packages of care, training and mentoring in the most appropriate setting, including the client’s home.

You must hold a relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with RCSLT and HCPC or be in your final year of training with the view to graduate by the end of the academic year.

You will be well supported by senior colleagues across these settings, with many opportunities for peer support. The role involves close work with colleagues from a range of disciplines and the post is supported by an assistant SLT. You will enjoy close links with our team and our SLT colleagues within the East Midlands, and benefit from excellent levels of support, supervision, IT and CPD opportunities.

You will be working towards your competencies and gaining your fully qualified status with HCPC and RCSLT at the usual time frames. The rotational posts are new to our services. To effectively plan and implement high quality Occupational Therapy input with Service Users on the acute adult mental health wards at Sherwood Oaks Hospital, Mansfield.

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and will provide a variety of individual and group occupational therapy interventions to a diverse range of service users, both on the wards, in the therapy area and when appropriate in patients homes.

You will liaise with a range of agencies and services across Nottinghamshire.

You will manage a variable clinical caseload, working with people with a diverse range of needs towards an effective discharge from hospital.

Professional and clinical supervision will be provided by an identified Occupational Therapist and you will link into the wider network in Nottinghamshire working co-operatively with colleagues to ensure high quality service provision and gain opportunities for support and Continued Professional Development.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.
