Enhance local data generation and Product life-cycle management from medical perspective to maximize product’s value and long term development

• Evaluate new products, new indications, new research programs, new business potentials of defined therapeutic areas from medical perspective to support new product introduction and line extension

 Academic communication to enhance the delivery of new concept and Pfizer products key message to key influencers and stakeholders, and Establish Cooperation and partnership with medical association to promote medical advancement.

• Set up national level KOL database, and keep medical communication with through various approaches 
• Design educational programs for top KOLs and implement them
• Support on China treatment guideline development, scientific interpretation and promotion
• Publish or facilitate publication of medical paper in professional journals
• Cooperation with local medical societies to conduct medical programs/conference to facilitate new concept and state of art medical progress’ introduction to China

 In order to maintain company’s image and protect patient’s welfare, MA act as a core member to work with cross function team on crisis management.

• Perform medical evaluation, explanation on the event;

• Provide professional medical consultation to Safety Officer to solve Pfizer products’ safety query
• If take clinician role: provide the clinical safety oversight including performing and documenting regular review of individual subject safety data and performing review of cumulative safety data with the safety risk lead (as delegated by the clinical lead).
• If take clinical lead role: consistent with Safety Review Plan (SRP), performs and documents regular review of individual subject safety data, and performs review of cumulative safety data with the safety risk lead. As appropriate, the clinical lead may delegate these responsibilities to the study clinician identified in the SRP.  The specific components of safety data review are detailed in the Safety Data Review Guide – for Clinicians and in SAF09 SOP. For all studies, clinical safety review should be performed in consultation with a designated medical monitor if neither clinical lead nor clinicians are medically qualified.

We are looking for a seasoned leader and Personal Lender to play a key role providing leadership, direction, and coaching to the team of CWB Specialists, Personal Lending, who provide credit structuring, credit underwriting, and Banking Centre support for Personal borrowing clients.

The Personal Lending team provides support to CWB Banking Centers nationwide through receipt, underwriting and recommendation of complex Personal Lending applications, including guidance on project viability and loan structure. 

This player-coach role will actively support structuring, alignment, and recommendation of Personal borrowing solutions to the CWB Private Banking team and their clients. This includes extensive knowledge of Personal lending policies, and the ability to analyze, challenge and recommend structuring CWB’s policies within our competitive market position while adhering to Regulator’s risk appetite and guidance.

• Management of intake process, workflow queue, and workflow distribution for new Personal lending requests

Risk Management

• Responsible to provide guidance to business leaders (Market Leads /Personal Banking Leaders) and other Banking Centre members on the identification and management of risk, provide guidance on early direction / action to proactively find credit solutions.

• Completes necessary due diligence while working with Personal Lending Specialists and partners to establish terms of credit, and produce prudent credit facilities that reflect strong knowledge of CWB policies and procedures

• Actively engage, challenge and respond to Credit Risk Management partners for structuring, alignment, and recommendation of highly complex Personal borrowing solutions while balancing risk and reward in line with CWB’s risk appetite.

• Ensure awareness of changes within the Canadian banking landscape specific to Personal Lending as outlined in the Residential Mortgage Underwriting Policy (RMUP)

• Identify potential risk that can lead to difficulty in repayment or potential default on the loan

• Proper AML/KYC practices and loan portfolio management with focus on loan quality, exposure limits and security requirements.

Core know-how & experience requirements

Professional Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline

• Working knowledge of OSFI’s Residential Mortgage Underwriting Policy (RMUP)

• Working understanding of mortgage insurance requirements (CMHC, Genworth)

• Expert knowledge of collateral security and personal lending documentation requirements, including credit policies and knowledge of other FI’s policies, products and processes would be beneficial.
   

Professional Experience

• 10 plus years experience in Personal credit analysis and presentation, supported by well-developed skills in business financial statement analysis and knowledge of effective risk mitigation strategies for Personal credit underwriting

• 5 plus years leadership experience, including direct experience leading high performing sales roles and managing remote teams

• Proven analysis skills in both Business/Commercial and Personal lending across industries through the application of financial statement knowledge & understanding to support Personal credit recommendations.

• Experience with banking and loan origination systems.

Job Family Group:

The Data Scientist / Portfolio Risk Manager provides analysis, monitors the performance and develops portfolio credit recommendations on consumer loan portfolios to manage risk taking, improve profitability and ensure the bank’s lending activities adhering to Retail Credit policies and Risk Appetite target.  This role leverages the use of statistical tools, quantitative modeling techniques and other business methodologies to mine data and support credit policy and strategy recommendations. The position is responsible for contributing to key risk management related business processes such as credit performance monitoring, retail risk policy/strategy development, credit loss reserving, loss forecasting and business planning. This role is also responsible for ADHOC analysis including due diligence for potential portfolio or retail lending business acquisitions.

Loss forecasting and performance monitoring (40%)

• Develop, enhance loss forecasting framework. Maintain efficient reporting process to communicate forecast and underlying drivers to senior management. Liaison with collections/ finance to facilitate accurate assessment and reporting of loss/allowance.
• Conduct portfolio analyses, including monitoring and reporting credit performances of specific consumer loan portfolios, exploring and discovering root causes of changing credit profile and credit performances, identifying performance drivers and providing senior management with actionable recommendations.

Portfolio Risk management/Data Analysis (20%)

• Supporting growth and solve real business problems by applying customized business analysis or a variety of predicative modeling techniques, portfolio segmentation, champion/challenger methodologies to analyze business results and refine strategies and influence portfolio credit performance and profitability.
• Combine retail lending product expertise, lending process understanding and analytical expertise in lending policy and strategy enhancement. Support portfolio / business acquisition and due-diligence exercises in Retail Lending space; Promote collaboration within Risk team and across functions to provide end-to-end analysis that connects risk taking and profitability.
• Explore, adopt and champion AI and machine learning to advance risk team’s analytical capability

Credit Policy/Process/Strategy Analysis (20%)

• Maintain current understanding of applicable regulatory requirements for consumer loans and ensure policies and procedures are fully compliant.
• Present results of portfolio monitoring and analysis and provide recommendations for policy, process or strategy changes to more effectively manage risk, increase efficiency or improve bank profitability.
• Review policies and procedures to ensure adherence to credit risk-related operating procedures and applicable P&C Canada, BMO and U.S. policies as well as alignment with the business strategy and risk appetite.

Governance (20%)

• Provide clear, concise executive summaries on portfolio performance or risk concerns for discussion with key stakeholders at the appropriate governance forums to define the issue/risk, assess the potential implications to the bank and provide any recommended actions to remediate the risk.
• Provide supports to Internal/External audit efforts

Authorities:

• Information Access – Authorities to access information, records, facilities, systems, and personnel of the enterprise, including authorities to access and use confidential customer and financial information.
• Empowerment – Authority to interact with the LoB, providing analysis, consultation, issue identification and recommendations.

Scope and Impact:

This position contributes to financial reporting and loan portfolio risk profile /performance, reported internally as well as externally. This position has direct impact on the achievement of business objectives as they relate to managing risk and delivering against profitability targets associated with the loan portfolio.

Qualifications:

• Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in credit risk processes, and loss forecasting is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to glean insights from data and support data driven decision making.
• Highly proficient in data analysis (including time series analysis) using SAS/SQL.
• Highly proficient in SAS and Excel. Knowledge of software like Python, Power BI a plus.
• In depth knowledge of loan life cycle and loss mitigation process.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management metrics, KPIs and KRIs.
• In-depth knowledge of reporting & analytics concepts and applications.
• In-depth knowledge of risk systems technology.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Verbal & written communication skills.

Position responsibilities primarily include (i) screening prospects for credit worthiness for booking an Asset Based secured loan, (2) managing a small portfolio of asset based borrowers, starting with more deal participations and advancing over time to more challenging borrower structures, and (3) working within a team environment underwriting new Asset Based transactions, which includes modeling/ financial skills, analyzing a borrower’s past performance and be able to make assumptions on future performance, writing skills and attention to detail in understanding and documenting with a credit memo a borrower’s business profile, competitive dynamics, and a business’ risks and mitigants.

The Associate is primarily responsible for the implementation of Product Team initiatives.

• Execute strategic and tactical product plans, for designated products/services
