• Develops briefings at program level, tracks data/claims trends, improvements, and claims resolutions to identify areas of potential improvements and best practices.
• Utilizes various claims and transportation automated systems in order to resolve issues and answer claimants questions.
• Investigates and develops supporting evidence for loss and damage claims arising from storage and movement of personal property and makes recommendations for use in affixing responsibility and settlement of claims.
• Determines and advises customers on entitlements or procedures related to temporary storage of goods, weight allowances; prohibited items; and shipment of personal property including various methods available.
• Plans, books, and routes personal property, estimates cost savings, time involved, time of arrival, storage in transit involved, and purposes.
• Prepares and process various applications for transportation or storage of a wide range of personal property and privately owned vehicles, including special items, of authorized civilian and military members.
• Makes detailed cost comparisons to determine the best and most economical method of movement, and screens movement documents for correct accounting data.

• Designs, plans, and conducts data and/or research studies concerning the trends and impact of CMS programs.
• Conducts analysis of policy issues and topics, researches background information, the origin of laws, and the intended impact in order to make effective policy recommendations.
• Works with other CMS staff and stakeholders, either as a member of a project team or as a project lead, to develop methods for innovative approaches to determining and assuring the reliability and validity of productivity and workload data.
• Responds to inquiries regarding program policies to a variety of internal and external stakeholders (e.g., beneficiaries, providers, and representatives of public and private organizations, congressional staff, and other government organizations).

• Posts payments received from the insurance companies to appropriate computerized ledgers and subsidiary ledgers.
• Explains Third-Party Collection (TPC) program to patients and their insurance companies.

• Maintains suspense records on all claims and correspondence.

Works with grantees to identify potential issues and conducts research on policy guidance and legislation.

Reviews policy and guidance for application, and provides related guidance to grantee(s).

Communicates Federal and grant award requirements to grantees collaboratively with senior specialists to ensure understanding of grant requirements.

Ensures that grantees deliver agreed upon products and services, achieve negotiated performance outcomes, and operate in accordance with programmatic, administrative, and budgetary requirements.

Participates in on-site compliance monitoring reviews and Enhanced Desk Monitoring Reviews (EDMRs) of grantees to: evaluate the grantee's progress towards meeting the goals specified in the grant agreement with Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration.

Assess the quality of the program and services; ensure that grant activities are being conducted in compliance with the grant agreement and applicable Federal regulations.
