As a National Bank Examiner (Analyst to Assistant Deputy Comptroller), you will:

• Analyze supervision findings for banks and thrifts assigned to the Assistant Deputy Comptroller (ADC), identify areas of concern, determine methods of resolution and recommend appropriate action and/or follow-up.
• Fill in for the ADC during short absences. May assist the ADC to develop and monitor the performance of the annual plan, including budget for the ADC's portfolio. Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the field office as requested.
• Supervise and manage the work of assigned office support personnel and may make the assignment of work for field office personnel.
• Periodically serve as Examiner-In-Charge (EIC) in community banks or thrifts or assist in supervisory activities in midsize, credit card banks, or large banks and comparable thrifts, as requested.
• Attend meetings with Boards of Directors and bank and thrift management, representing the Supervisory Office. Act as the liaison with representatives of the banking and thrift industry and community groups. Provide technical assistance and guidance to bankers, bank directors, examining personnel, outside parties, and district and Washington office personnel.

At the full performance level, major duties include:

• Performs economic analysis of the financial services industry, the financial markets, real estate markets, FDIC-insured commercial banks and thrifts, as well as national, international, and regional economic developments.
• Plans, performs and provides complex financial and economic analyses related to identifying existing and emerging aggregate risks to the Corporation's deposit insurance fund.

• Be responsible for the strategic planning and supervision of large and complex national banks. Provide expert advice and guidance to Deputy Comptrollers (DCs) for Large Bank Supervision, the SOC for Large Bank Supervision, and Executive Committee on emerging risks within these financial institutions and any operating subsidiaries.
• Manage the supervision of all of the bank's operations including innovative and non-conventional banking activities. Develop systems and programs that focus on achieving OCC's goals and priorities. Serve on task forces conducting analyses, surveys, or investigations of major issues.
• Identify policy issues and systemic risks and recommends solutions to peers, the Committee on Bank Supervision (CBS), and other OCC senior supervision officials. Work with other Large Bank Examiners-In-Charge and the Large Bank DCs overseeing the Large Bank supervision program.
