Executive, Finance Operation, NTU Shared Service – Finance

This position is responsible for providing transactional and administrative support to ensure accurate, effective and efficient operations of Non-Supplier Invoice/Payment Processing. The Executive will carry out accounting tasks that are related to the actual efficient maintenance and processing of the university’s accounts payable and reimbursement transactions. Providing all these services effectively will ensure that municipal finances are accurate and up to date and that vendors and service providers are paid within established time limits.

Service Delivery:

• Verify invoices and payment requests are duly approved and comply with NTU financial policies and procedures.

• Data entry of invoice documents into accounting system.

• Resolve invoice/payment discrepancies and non-compliance cases related to Accounts Payable processing and escalate to NSS Accounts Payable Lead, if necessary.

• Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations e.g., withholding tax and accounting standards.

• Monthly WHT filing and submission to IRAS.

Operational Governance and Excellence:

• Follow up balance sheet accounts e.g., WHT Clearing, Advance Payment, AP Aging and etc to ensure aged items are cleared timely and expenditure are accounted correctly.

• Work with Schools, Department and Centre users to ensure suppliers are created with bank details are maintained for facilitating electronic payment.

• Clearing of monthly bank reconciliation on direct debit transaction to ensure all invoices/payment are accounted on timely manner.

• Assist in providing documents and attending queries raised by internal and external auditors on the grant, internal statutory accounts.

• Subject Matter Expert for matters related to Contract for Service (CFS) and Non-Residents Professional Payment.

• Assist in updating SOP documentation on periodically basis to equip new members with requisite knowledge in carrying out AP duties.

• Involve and perform UAT for payment related change request or improvements.

• Conduct regular quality checks and analytics on processed transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with university standards.

Requirement:

NTU Shared Services (NSS) is a centralized unit within Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that provides a wide range of administrative, operational, and support services to various departments and units within the university. Its primary goal is to streamline and optimize processes, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver high-quality services to support NTU's core mission of education and research.

The Assistant Manager, Finance is responsible for :

Operational & Service Delivery

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the University's Shared Services Finance-Fixed Assets team, ensuring adherence to the University's accounting policies and internal controls.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all asset activities, including capitalization of assets under construction (work-in-progress), asset acquisition, disposals, transfers, and depreciation postings.

About This Job

Commercial Loan Servicing (CLS) provides back-office operations support for commercial, business banking, and various specialty lending products.  We work directly with the Sales and Credit teams to remove roadblocks and complete operational tasks that allow Commerce to meet the customer’s commercial lending needs.   CLS operational tasks can include loan document preparation, loan accounting, collateral perfection and monitoring, and legal and regulatory review.

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to participate in-depth underwriting discussions with lenders and senior credit management regarding real estate taken as collateral. This role experiences high volumes of production and is held to a variety of service level agreements to ensure our sales force holds a competitive advantage in the market place.

• Bid, order, and review commercial real estate appraisals on commercial and residential loans

• Partner with lenders and credit managers in order to provide high-quality consultation for informed and prudent loan decisions

• Assist and support Appraisal Review Group department manager and Chief Appraiser as needed

About This Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Commercial Customer Profitability and Incentive Systems Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of both the Commercial Customer Profitability System (CRISP) and the Commercial Incentive System (Inspire/ELT). This position requires strong analytical, statistical, technical, and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of incentive compensation management, and customer profitability measurements.

Essential Functions

• Oversee the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of the Commercial Customer Profitability System (CRISP) and the Commercial Incentive System (Inspire/ELT) to ensure accurate and timely calculation and reporting of customer profitability and incentive metrics

• Utilize statistical and analytical tools to interpret data, identify trends, and provide valuable insights on customer profitability, revenue generation, and incentive program performance

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for both systems, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary adjustments to enhance accuracy and efficiency

• Continuously assess and improve system processes to streamline operations and maximize productivity while maintaining a strong focus on data integrity and accuracy

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Commercial Banking, Talent Management, Finance, and IT; to ensure seamless integration of data, timely data updates, and effective communication of system changes or enhancements

• Ensure all system operations comply with relevant regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive financial data

• Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy. Manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs

• Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required

• Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information to team members effectively

• Support budget management, planning, and expenditure

• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• In-depth understanding of commercial banking products, revenue streams, and profitability drivers

• Strong statistical skills with hands-on experience in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation of complex financial data

• Proficiency in statistical software packages such as R, Python, or SAS

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management principles pertaining to banking data and financial systems

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to solve problems efficiently and effectively

• Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business

• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, statistics, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

• 8+ years managing customer profitability and incentive systems within the banking industry required

• 4+ years of experience managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment required

About This Job

Commercial Loan Servicing (CLS) provides back-office operations support for commercial, business banking, and various specialty lending products.  We work directly with the Sales and Credit teams to remove roadblocks and complete operational tasks that allow Commerce to meet the customer’s commercial lending needs.   CLS operational tasks can include loan document preparation, loan accounting, collateral perfection and monitoring, and legal and regulatory review. 

Successful candidates will be assigned to a specific team and tasks within CLS based on business needs and the candidate’s skill set.

Essential Functions

• Complete a preliminary review of loan submissions to ensure regulatory and legal compliance

• Prepare loan documents in accordance with Commerce Bank’s credit policy

• Interpret complex loan documents to set loans up on the loan accounting system

• Post loan transactions and provide account problem resolution

• Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of collateral securing commercial loans

• Complete a post-closing review to ensure all documents comply with regulatory requirements and Commerce Bank policy

• Collaborate with internal and external business partners to improve service levels

• Provide research and resolution to customer concerns/issues

• Perform other duties as assigned

As a Healthcare Relationship Executive, you are an Officer of the bank and will develop and manage a holistic approach to key healthcare client relationships. You will influence the Client Relationship through developing credible and relevant messaging and deliver it through broad executive relationships to align Commerce Healthcare as a strategic partner that enables key customer initiatives, increase customer satisfaction, and grow Commerce’s revenues.
